"Simbavati River Lodge encompasses a combination of luxury and Safari adventure。 While being papered with an amazing room with 5 star accommodations, you are submerged within the best Safari viewing experience one can imagine. Staff is professional friendly and extremely happy and hospitable. They go way beyond what was expected in all aspects leaving you with an experience that may be lived in very few places in this type of vacation. The food served is phenomenal with all sorts of choices for every breakfast lunch dinner and drinks. Our Field Guide, Tracker provided us with knowledge and viewings of all sorts of species while always providing a safe environment with upbeat and fun momments to be remembered. The rest of the staff including our Butler were all on opoint. We dream on returning soon. "

"We arrived at Skukuza airport in the early afternoon… picked up by our guide it was a short 5min drive to Shalati. If you are lucky you can see the train on the bridge from the plane! Let me get this out of the way: the check in and check out process was not the best. We were ushered by an impatient staff to fill our paper work and finish lunch on arrival. We were left without hospitality on departure with numerous miscommunications by staff (eg. departure times / park ticket / exit letter etc.) This somewhat blemished what is otherwise an amazing getaway at Shalati. If you want a romantic safari experience look no further; I highly recommend 3-4 night stays. If within your budget don’t think about it… book the train and the honey moon spa package. Bring bathers, some nice evening wear to impress your partner and of course the spirit of love and adventure. From the bridge (yes your room) you can see the big 5 (leopards, elephants, buffalos, lions, hippos) without a drive! This was simply phenomenal. Our guide took us on different routes and short stops through out the Kruger and no game drive will be the same. Everyday Shalati will surprise you with wonderful events and beautiful touches of hospitality. One thing I can share is that they took a photo of my wife and I, then framed it as a gift for us to celebrate our honey moon! We did not want to leave! Note: you will be wined and dined very well prepare to be like a hippo by the end :p "

"Sometimes, the stars do align. And it is easier to align if the game reserve staff go above and beyond. This game reserve did exactly that. We celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary and decided on a whim to experience a game drive holiday. From the pickup at the airport to dropping off, our stay and experience here went far beyond our expectations. What makes this game reserve stand out is the friendliness and attention to detail each staff have, and they striving to make us feel at home and welcomed. The all inclusive stay has wonderful food and drinks. We stayed four nights and found it perfectly adequate to enjoy the two daily included game drives. We had the perfect guide and tracker, Edwin and Tokollo, whom we clicked well with, and sharing the vehicle with the cute couple David and Aggie too. Every game drive the six of us have together is wonderfully informative, funny and fun. Thank you both, Edwin and Tokollo for making this a perfect trip. Truly memories to last a lifetime. "

"The property is a hidden gem with tree house lounges, large open deck for animal viewing, outstanding meals for every palate and diet, aged towering trees interspersed throughout, spacious rooms and amenities such as spa, game rooms and gym. The staff are very friendly, helpful, authentic and genuine. I have stayed in property several times and highly recommend it."

"I've spent 10 nights at Sleepover Orpen over 3 trips and I cannot recommend it more highly, especially for the cost conscious traveller. Look, this is container living but it has everything you need: excellent security, wonderful staff, immaculate condition but there are a few glitches here and there but these are minor inconveniences eg. thin walls. Add to this proximity to Kruger Orpen gate and the accommodating staff there, it's a win all the way. You cannot go wrong if you choose to stay here. Tip: ask for a room away from the generator because this it might wake you up if you are a light sleeper but the camp is generally quiet and visitors ultra-considerate of each other."
