There's loads to do in Herreras, but venture farther afield and you'll find even more magic. Organize a set of wheels and you can cruise around the surrounding region at your own speed. Add these fantastic destinations to your list:

• Culebra is about 35 miles from Herreras. Well-known tourist attractions like Flamenco Beach should be high on your list here.
• Situated 50 miles away, Garrochales is also a hit with travelers. Be sure to get to Bosque Estatal De Cambalache while you're here. It's one of the reasons people love this city.
• Mona Island is around 140 miles from Herreras and is one of the region's most breathtaking nature spots. Stretch your legs and enjoy the fresh air here.

If you don't have a driver's license issued in Puerto Rico, then you may need to apply for an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your place of residence to be able to rent a car.
