Darling tiny house property that was very clean and welcoming. When we arrived, there was still snow on the ground and the pathways were cleared, making access to the cottage safe and easy. The kitchen was well-stocked with cookware and every utensil you'd need to cook a meal, and the compact space design was amazing! (Loved the corner cabinet Lazy Susan and the farmhouse sink!) Graceful stream runs just beside the house...wonderful to listen to from open windows or from the porch. Easy access to Manitou Springs, Pikes Peak/ North Pole and Colorado Springs.
There are a couple of things to know before renting: first, AT&T cell service does not work from the house but does pick up again just a bit down the road. (Our Verizon phone worked perfectly.) Also, the stairs to the loft bedroom are very steep. While ample safety/grab bars are in place, the steps might not be safe or accessible to those with joint, mobility or balance limitations. Lastly, the mattress in the bedroom is VERY (almost uncomfortably) firm. If you prefer a softer feel, we'd suggest bringing an egg crate or foam mattress cover.
There are several properties near the cottage property and we found the in-everyone's-backyard location of the hot tub a bit awkward and decided not to use it. That being said, it appeared to be clean and in good repair.
The property manager kept in touch with us before we arrived which was nice...always good to know how to get in touch with someone quickly if the need arises. Overall, we had a nice weekend get-away and felt like the cottage was a well-maintained VRBO property.
