    About this property

Cottage Next to the Creek in Historic Cascade Canyon At The Foot Of Pikes Peak

Adults-only cottage in Cascade with spa tub
This fully restored Victorian cottage with outdoor hot tub is situated on the banks of Cascade Creek in the small mountainous neighborhood of Cascade which is part of the Pikes Peak watershed. Great views of the creek from windows in the sitting area and views of the mountain ridges from the wrap around porch and the sleeping loft. The cottage is at the rear of a larger property with a main house and carriage house and is surrounded by old growth forest. The grounds: large trees, flower gardens, and a private creek side mini meadow are yours to enjoy. The cottage has a wrap around porch with chairs and a porch swing to gaze at the gardens and an outside patio next to the creek with table, chairs, and charcoal grill. The renovated cottage is really a "tiny house"( 500 sq ')with all space efficiently dedicated. There is a small sitting area, a dining area, compact kitchen (fully equipped with microwave, stove, dishwasher, fridge, and washer/dryer), small bathroom with shower, and a light-filled sleeping loft with large windows of the mountains, forest, and night sky. The babbling creek serves as a sleeping tonic. Several trails are outside the front door-one of which, if taken to its limit, takes you to the summit of Pikes Peak. Wildlife, since Cascade is in the foothills, is common-bears, foxes, raccoons, bobcats, and deer. Check out https://www.peakradar.com/ for great area attractions and events. Peaceful Cottage by the creek

We’re definitely going to miss our stay at this incredible cottage. Kris, the owner, was nothing short of accommodating the entire process. We traveled from Iowa and got in town earlier than check in time and Kris was kind enough to let us in early once the cleaners were done. It’s been such a lovely, quaint and peaceful stay. We couldn’t rave more about it. The location is the perfect mix of solitude and accessibility; knowing your only miles away from CO Springs. We’ll for sure be back, it was absolutely perfect!

            Cascade Colorado Cottage

Darling tiny house property that was very clean and welcoming. When we arrived, there was still snow on the ground and the pathways were cleared, making access to the cottage safe and easy. The kitchen was well-stocked with cookware and every utensil you'd need to cook a meal, and the compact space design was amazing! (Loved the corner cabinet Lazy Susan and the farmhouse sink!) Graceful stream runs just beside the house...wonderful to listen to from open windows or from the porch. Easy access to Manitou Springs, Pikes Peak/ North Pole and Colorado Springs. There are a couple of things to know before renting: first, AT&T cell service does not work from the house but does pick up again just a bit down the road. (Our Verizon phone worked perfectly.) Also, the stairs to the loft bedroom are very steep. While ample safety/grab bars are in place, the steps might not be safe or accessible to those with joint, mobility or balance limitations. Lastly, the mattress in the bedroom is VERY (almost uncomfortably) firm. If you prefer a softer feel, we'd suggest bringing an egg crate or foam mattress cover. There are several properties near the cottage property and we found the in-everyone's-backyard location of the hot tub a bit awkward and decided not to use it. That being said, it appeared to be clean and in good repair. The property manager kept in touch with us before we arrived which was nice...always good to know how to get in touch with someone quickly if the need arises. Overall, we had a nice weekend get-away and felt like the cottage was a well-maintained VRBO property.

            5/5 Excellent

This cottage is quaint, quiet, and awesome! We will definitely return
