Not a comfortable retreat at the end of a long day

Posted Sep 7, 2015
Upon check-in after a long drive there were maybe 20 sheets of TP left on the roll and no spare roll in the room. Had to track down the housekeeping woman. The wireless network was not secured so it was useless for me to log on due to work restrictions. The bed was hard and noisy, the walls were very thin. Two of four dresser drawers were blocked from opening by the desk, and a third drawer would not open no matter how hard we pulled. The "breakfast" consisted of a loaf of white bread, a few packaged pastries, raisin bran, a couple apples and a banana. Outdoor paint peeling and weathered plywood. Something which they had no control over were the freight trains going through town every hour of the night about two blocks south of the motel. While we felt safe staying there it was no treat.

Convenient location in Columbia Gorge

Convenient location for travelling the Columbia Gorge. Unfortunately the smoke and haze made it difficult to see the Gorge.

Beautiful location, but this is an older hotel and looks it. Paper thin walls and luke-warm shower. The television was an older style, which wouldn't have been a big deal, but there were not very many channels and the one channel I was trying to watch kept pausing the picture. As a result, I missed half of the action in the fights I was watching. Other channels were fuzzy. The "breakfast" was cold cereal, toast, fruit, and convenience store pastries. If you're just looking for a place to rest your head, this one fits the bill.

Simple and clean

Posted Jul 28, 2015
We were able to check in earlier. The Manager was very helpful and friendly we even stayed 2 more nights then planned. Breakfast was not so great. But there was a fridge in the room and a big grocery store in town.

Inexpensive Hotel

Posted Jul 13, 2015
Pros: clean rooms, nice manager
Cons: less noisy fan, nicer tv options, get rid of stale smoke smell in room.
Location: Liked the proximity to Cascade Locks, Beacon Rock, Columbia River attractions.
If you're looking for an inexpensive hotel in the area, this one is not bad. Although it was old, the rooms had been updated and it was clean. Amenities were few - old tv, phone, old noisy fan/cooler, and a poor excuse for a breakfast offering, but it had a fridge and microwave. The management was nice and accommodating. Not a place to hang out in, but a good option if all you need is a comfortable, safe room to sleep in at night.

Old and noisy heating unit

Heater was noisy and unable to set the temp. Door latch was broken. Bathroom to cold to take a shower!

Pros: see above
Cons: see above
Location: good food
The facility was clean but needed maintenance. Room had leaky faucet and chipped paint. Carpet worn and room smelled musty. Staff was rude. I asked for two adjacent rooms. He couldn't accommodate me yet there were only 10 or 12 rooms booked out of over 40. Customer service training would be helpful!!!

Close to the run I was there for . . . that's all

Posted Sep 15, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Everything
The room I was in was awful! The smoke detector was disabled, the fridge did not work and the stove was out of the 1950's. There were spiders and bugs all over the room. The only positive I can say it that it was close to the run that I had come for. Next year I will book further in advance so that I do not have to stay here. Very disappointing!
