This Spanish cottage is part of a historical duplex built in 1930\. Nestled in the heart of Coronado, this home is just a short walk away from the beaches (1 mile), vibrant local shops, and many dining options. Just a quick 7 minute walk to Spreckels park for summer concerts in the park or just to enjoy the beautiful park or take the kids to the playground. Enjoy the convenience of being close to everything while still relishing the tranquility of a quiet neighborhood. Bedrooms and Bathrooms: This 1,200 sq foot rental features 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. Stocked with all the necessities for a comfortable stay. Bedroom 1: king bed. Bedroom 2: queen bed with single trundle. Kitchen: The kitchen is the perfect spot to cook a nice meal at home. Equipped with a dishwasher, microwave, air fryer/toaster oven and ample cabinet space. Whether you're preparing a quick meal or hosting a small dinner party, this kitchen has everything you need. Dining Room: Formal dining room with enough seating for 6. Constructed in 1930 & designated as a Historic Resource in 2018 for its association with Genevieve Moore Savage & builder Alma V. Johnson. Genevieve Savage was a pilot. She was sometimes referred to as "The Army's only Flying Wife" because her husband, Major C. M. Savage, was a member of the US Army. In 1934, she was the president of the Washington Women Pilots Association. She was also a passenger on a record-breaking flight where the pilot achieved a speed of 166.67 miles per hour. Genevieve Savage played an active role in the Ninety-Nines, an organization for women pilots, which included Amelia Earhart. Genevieve Savage died in a plane crash on August 27, 1937, in an isolated mountainous area three miles over the Mexican border. The crash was attributed to engine failure. She was 42 years old at the time of her death. Coronado's short-term rental ordinance prohibits rentals for less than 26 consecutive nights. This ordinance aims to maintain Coronado's residential character and prevent disruptions caused by frequent guest turnover. Due to the 26 day minimum, some essentials provided to get you started (not for the entire stay): toilet paper, paper towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash. Kitchen will be stocked with some cooking essentials as well. We prefer to host full-month stays (ideally from the 1st to the last day of the month).
