Overall, my husband and I had a great stay here. The location is very quiet and secluded, but an easy distance to Gatlinburg and other sights. The back porch, with the view of the creek and the hot tub, was very peaceful and relaxing. We had everything we needed to cook, and despite reviews to the otherwise, we had plenty of dish soap and paper products. (We did bring extra just in case.) The location is beautiful.
The essentials were clean: the hot tub, the toilets, the shower, the sinks, and the fridge.
There were just a few things I couldn't quite get past. There was several weeks (at least) worth of dust and hair under the gas heating stove - which I cleaned up myself. The AC unit has mold visibly growing inside and on the top. Fortunately, we didn't need to run it at all during our stay. The sheets and pillows were very old and thin. I would have used one of the extra pillows in the bedroom, but one of them had what looked like a small blood stain on it - and so I couldn't bring myself to use any of them. The one mat in the downstairs bathroom was not clean. The wifi never worked for us; we used the River Falls cabin wifi, which fortunately did work.
Lastly - and this isn't the fault of the owners necessarily - but the male guests from the nearby cabins kept walking right past the front and back porches of this cabin in order to access other parts of the stream. I found it very unsettling and definitely annoying. If I had been there by myself or was there with just other girls, I would've been extremely uncomfortable.
However, all that being said, this is not a bad spot. I would stay again, but I would probably bring some extra cleaning supplies and definitely my own pillows and sheets.
