Nice hotel close with a private beach

Posted Apr 20, 2017
Pros: Clean room with comfortable beds. Nice pools and a private beach nearby. Great breakfast buffet.
Cons: Check-in needs to be quicker and rooms should be ready by check-in time.
Location: There is not a lot nearby, only other hotels and a shopping mall about 3km away. Mount Nebo about 20min drive away.
I stayed in this hotel with my 2 children for 2 nights. We arrived at the specified check-in time. It took 1.5hrs before we were able to get our room. They had our reservation totally wrong. Thankfully I had printed out the reservation confirmation so I was able to prove what I had booked. Because they had got the reservation wrong, we were then kept waiting for our room to be ready. Once we got into our room, we were pleased. The room was clean with complimentary drinks in the minibar and the man helping to set up the sofa bed for us was really friendly and helpful. The sofa bed itself was hard and uncomfortable but the other 2 beds in the room were great. We enjoyed the pools and floating in the dead sea. Mud was available and staff kept adding more whenever it was running low. We wanted to walk along the beach but lifeguard did not allow us to leave the small cordoned area. The restaurants and bars in the restaurant are very expensive and evening entertainment needs improving but food was good and buffet breakfast varied and tasty. Staff are superficially friendly and helpful. We just didn't get the personal service we got used to in other places in Jordan.

Great amenities but understaffed

Posted Feb 25, 2017
Pros: At check in, the staff was very attentive - explained how everything functioned and where everything was located.
Cons: Add more staff - to supervise the children's club and pool areas. Also, keep the pools and outdoor restaurant open in the evening time.
We stayed as a family for 3 nights in February, during the off season. The resort has a lot of great amenities - pools, children's club room and pool, restaurants, private beach. Two of the pools were heated, which was great for February. The rooms were very comfortable and inclued free minibar with juice, water, and carbonated drinks. We were disappointed with lack of staff on the premises - not enough pool towels (we had to walk across to another pool to pick them up and they still didn't have enough for everyone), nobody to oversee the children's club (our friends came a few months earlier and could leave their children with the staff at the club, so we were counting on it as well and were dissappointed). Breakfast buffet and dinner buffet had a large selection of items, but most of them were not child-friendly (at least for the tastes of American children). Everything closes at sundown - pools, beach, and outdoor restaurant, so if you spend your day exploring Jordan, it will be hard to find things to do at the resort after 5pm. The security is fantastic - a huge metal gate and every visitor is thoroughly checked, so we felt very safe. The views are beautiful - can't beat the sea and the mountains!

A decent stay, but room for improvement

Posted Jan 11, 2017
Pros: -Gym -Beach -Good service -Late checkout
Cons: -Restaurant/Dinner -Cats on premises -Smoking/Non-smoking sections of rooms
The hotel itself is nice and clean and it has a great beach on the Dead Sea. However, we requested a non-smoking room but had strong smells of smoke in the room from nearby rooms that had smokers. They should have non-smoking sections for issues like this. Also, the dinner in the hotel restaurant was abysmal. We ordered a Greek salad, which contained 1 leaf of lettuce and no olives! Just cucumbers, tomatoes, and a small amount of feta. We spoke with the chef and he remade it, but still barely put in any lettuce and the dressing was not proper either. Then our main course. The mashed potatoes were cold, the vegetables were fine, and the chicken was extremely dry and too tough to cut. They asked us if we wanted dessert but we were afraid to have any more! What an awful meal and way overpriced for the $64 we paid. I would have had a better meal 1 km down the road at a shawarma stand for $3. Breakfast was decent, but it was obvious some things were not fresh and were reused from the day before. Lastly, there are cats everywhere at this resort. Now, I like cats just fine. But they bother you when you're trying to eat, they knocked over my breakfast coffee and biscuits, and they are just not what I want to deal with when I am vacationing. On the plus side, the hotel is very beautiful and has a nice gym.

Room, linen, bathroom and towels very very dirty

Posted Dec 6, 2016
What was supposed to be a 5 stars hotel turned out to be the dirtiest hotel we've stayed in Jordan. Room floor and furniture were dirty, sheets were dirty, bathroom and towels were dirty. It was a nightmare.

Nice location on the sea

Posted Sep 25, 2016
The hotel is right on the sea with it's private beach which wasn't too busy at all. The staff were helpful and the food was good - although I wouldn't advise eating outside for breakfast buffet as flies are an issue in the area. The room itself was good and standard holiday inn. The hotel was easily accessed from the main road and had free valet.
