No WiFi, no hot water
I stayed at the Eagle's Nest by myself for two nights. The rental was clean and smelled good with no musty odors. Two gallons of bottled spring water were provided for drinking. The mobile home is set in the side of the mountain with a small, stone parking area in front and a steep driveway. There were two issues with my stay. The first was that there is no WiFi. The listing says there is WiFi, and goes as far as saying you can get speeds up to 100 Mbps. This is NOT true, and I confirmed it with the manager via text who said there is no internet at the Eagles Nest. Unfortunately, there is also no cell service, so keep that in mind. It took an entire day of traveling to get a reply to my text due to poor cell service in the area. The second issue was that there was no hot water. I was told that the hot water should have been on, so I am assuming there is hot water available, just not during my stay. I tried to heat water on the stove but the gas was off there as well. This wouldn't be a bad place to crash for the night if it was cheaper and it had the hot water turned on.

Perfect for us
We rented the Eagle’s Nest for a quick trip to Benezette to experience the elk rut. It was perfect for us. Close to all the activity but off the beaten path and quiet. It’s just roomy enough, super clean with everything we needed. Bonus: Skies were clear the first night and the stargazing was EXCEPTIONAL! Perfect place if you want peace and quiet and a nice, simple, clean place to stay.

September stay
During our stay it rained pretty hard the first night. I did notice a few leaks coming from the porch ceiling. So my wife and I moved some patio furniture around to avoid the drips. There was also a small leak coming from the vent/ac unit in the main living room area as well as behind the couch that the owner should consider fixing or perhaps is not aware of. Overall it is a pretty good location to all the main elk attractions. And as stated you need 4wd or awd to access. The shower is extremely small and very little water pressure but if you are use to sleeping in a camper and or are looking for place close to most it isn’t a bad place. It just wasn’t what my wife and I were used to. Think we got a little spoiled at the last few places we stayed up there.
