"Lovely and clean room. The breakfast was good but we had to ask for some things that had run out but it was replaced. I would definitely stay here again. "

"The price was good but they fail to mention lots of stairs to climb - not good with cases. The food was terrible. I got the pepper steak and the steak was dry, the pepper sauce watery and the chips uncooked. I said the chips were like eating raw potato and they brought replacement which were just as bad."

"Booked fairly last minute, for a very good rate. The car park was easy to find, and plenty of spaces were available (even though accommodation fully booked out). Reception on arrival was excellent, and even tried to change our sleeping arrangements due to a change in our needs. Bar area has a "Happy Hour" 3pm - 6pm which was a rare find nowadays. Comfortable and inviting, with a separate dining area. This seemed quite popular, so the food must be good quality. The bedroom was well appointed, if somewhat dated and in need of some modernisation. The bed positioning in front of plug sockets was odd, and the sockets on the other side being a fair stretch away. Small TV, not smart, just regular channels. Bed was okay, not awful, but slept on better. Everyone has their own taste on firmness though. Heard no noise from room below or to either side of us, nor from the corridor. So, well insulated from that. Even the main road outside wasn't too bad, but we didn't open the window. It was approx 18 degrees overnight, and there was a pedestal fan in the room, however it was still quite warm. Bathroom was functional, just a bit tired. Would return, even with the improvements required. A little bit of cash spent on the sleeping accommodation would be great. I am sure a few trades who drink in your bar would swap free pints to help 'upgrade' some of the rooms. I know this hotel featured on "Four In A Bed" a few years back, so I am intrigued to watch that now, and compare my own experience."

"Had a wonderful stay at this hotel before, so decided to take my husband for a Birthday treat. Staff are always very welcoming and can’t do enough for you. It’s at a beautiful location and the hotel is stunning, food is excellent. But unfortunately, this time I had a shocking encounter, of a man letting himself into my room, luckily I was dressed and had my husband with me. The poor man looked just as shocked as we were, apologised and said that he must have the wrong room and left. I finished my phone call and then went downstairs to report it to reception, they did say they didn’t understand how it happened, but nothing else happened and I went back to reception to see if they got anymore answers for me, they just didn’t seem that bothered about it, which I find abit disturbing. I didn’t sleep well last night as I kept thinking about what could have happened ! But other than this safety issue, it is a wonderful place to stay."

"Parking on site. Check in fast and efficient. Outside area lovely, lots of beautiful flower baskets. Room good, but now in need of refurbishment as looking a little tired, bathroom also needs updating. Some black mould in shower cubicle, also the shower flexi tube needed a clean. Otherwise a lovely place and we would stay again."
