Pros: The beach
Cons: Placing a sign under the Manchineel tree next to the pool bar to avoid injuries
Location: Isolated but close enough to downtown
This resort is beautiful and the food is amazing. The resort staff is very helpful but some are more friendly than others. The beach is beautiful and has a lot of volcanic rocks which forms small pools of warm water, it is perfect for relaxing without being knocked down by the waves. The beach is very peaceful since there aren't any other resorts within walking distance to the resort so you can walk along the shore for miles all alone. One thing I would recommend for the resort is placing a warning sign under the Manchineel tree next to the pool bar because the fruit releases a liquid and it is like poison ivy if it lands on your skin. The liquid from the tree fell on my eyes and my eyes were swollen, red, burning and I couldn't open it for 4 days.

Relaxing stay

Hotel nice and big, room with king size bed was plenty enough of for the both of us. Staff super friendly, buffet breakfast, lunch, dinner was ok (7/10)... The tortuga bar in the lobby was okay weak drinks but what do you expect for free booze... Although the premium drinks were cheap $4-6... beach is beautiful, Pool is nice, and $5 cab ride to town... Or you can walk in the dirt road for 10-15 minutes

not really an all inclusive

It says all inclusive, but there is only one restaurant included in that deal and it is not even open at all hours of the day. Room service and the only other restaurant on the property charge per dish. The activity teams, room conditions, and service was just not up to par with the other similarly advertised all inclusive hotels we have stayed in. Not worth it. It's also a distance from the nearest town, which will require a car.

Pros: pool and ocean
Cons: the buffet is repetitive and the desserts are unappealing. Rooms in the 1000s near the pool are not well maintained
Location: Went on a couple of excursions--one to Arenal and one to Nicaragua. Neither tour company delivered as promised.
Our stay was for 9 nights. First the bad news: The first room in the 1000s had no water one day, and no hot water for 2 days. The shampoo, conditioner, and soap were never refilled. The room was old and tired. We finally moved to a better room in the 4000 series. Take this option!! The food was buffet style and barely changed over the 9 days. There might be a night called "French" which was the same as "Seafood" with maybe two changes in the entree. The grille had the same chicken, steak (avoid this), hot dog, and pork chop every night. In fact, I really mean the same ones--they looked old and dry. The only positive here is the breakfast omelet station. The cook here is very nice and works to make his space a fun place to watch the omelet being prepared. The waitresses (and one waiter) worked very hard to clear plates and fill water glasses. We found many of them quite friendly. The dessert was extremely disappointing. Other Inclusive resorts have star quality desserts. This buffet was bland cafeteria-like foods. A little time could be spent in making the foods appear appetizing. The entire food experience was quite disappointing. The ala carte option is somewhat better, but can only go every 3rd night. Drinks can be too strong. The young man who bartends the bar by the front desk every evening was quite friendly. Now for the GOOD: The pool and ocean are among the best we have visited. Never a problem to find covered cabanas. Front desk staff very friendly

très bel endroit top pour le surf

Pros: cadre jardin site
Cons: le seul bémol du séjour le restaurant c' est globalement très bien mais un peu trop répétitif et pas de poisson grillé dommage
Location: partout visite et surf extra
très bonne car site idéal pour climat surf et ambiance relax beau jardin et belle prestation

Ok all inclusive for the price

Pros: The shallow pool for the kids, the location on the beach, the food.
Cons: Could be cleaner and better maintained.
Location: Location is good, $5 cab ride to town or a nice walk.
Our check in said 2pm so when we arrived at 2:40pm and got sent to the resturant to waste time until our room was ready- we got in about 4pm. They put us in the building closest to the entertainment stage and bar which does not work when you have two kids and the show goes until 11pm. We requested to be moved and they moved us the next afternoon. Another family that was in the trip also had to be moved because their a/c was leaking. The hotel is nice but the longer you stay the more you realize they don't maintain it so well. Our power went out a few times. Our shower ran out of water once and didn't drain very well. We found 2 pairs of underwear under our bed. The staff was always very nice but they do not bring you drinks at the pool area, you have to go to the bar area yourself. The food was good with lots of selection and the menu changes enough every night that you don't get bored over the week. They assign you a night to the a la carte restaurant but apparently then you have to confirm and ours said 2 people (we were 2 adults and 2 kids) so we never bothered. The beach was very nice and the location is great. The pool is nice with a separate attached shallow pool for the kids. They have people in the lobby who book tours and they were great helping our group coordinate zip line tours and we did the turtle tour. It was an easy and nice lace to stay with our family, a solid 3 star which could be so much more if they maintain or update the facilities.

Would not recommend this hotel!!

First off, the staff at the club, spa and front desk were very rude. I got hung up on because I didn't speak Spanish, was told numerous different answers when I asked the same question, was ignored. The food was horrible it was the same thing everyday and the "free" open bar was a limited choice of bottom shelf liquor.
