Very close to Steel Rigg. Staff were very friendly & there was a great vibe in the bar. Food (dinner & breakfast) was lovely. Its in a really wild location very close to Hadrian's Wall, beautiful countryside - but it can get a little wet and windy. So stepping into this cosy welcoming place and having some of their own beer and food in front of the fire is just exactly what you want. Stay the whole weekend and explore the Vindolanda museum. You can even get there by bus! Our room was clean, comfortable, and perfectly sound proofed. We overlooked the parking lot but couldn’t hear people, cars, or dogs, even though we could see them. We had a nice view but unfortunately it was above the entrance door to pub & main road outside.
