Though the grounds surrounding the main house are beautiful, this is not a three-star property, and it would not be as highly rated if it were located anywhere other than next to a large waterfall. The room was very dated, the bathroom was tiny and featured a small shower stall with a plastic shower curtain, and there was no TV or mini fridge in the room. This particularly presents a problem given that the nearest restaurant is more than 15 minutes away. Similar to a dorm, the guests' last names are displayed on the doors, there is a sign advising you to remove your shoes, and you can hear all activity happening in the other rooms.
What is most disappointing about this property is that it does not in fact offer many of the amenities that are advertised on various travel sites. What is advertised as a pool is actually a pond at the bottom of the waterfall, and there is no room service, porter/bellhop, or gift shop/newsstand. Perhaps most concerning, while the staff put on masks upon my arrival at the checkin counter, the woman who gave me the tour of the house asked me if she could remove her mask within minutes, and none of the staff or guests were wearing masks inside the house. This would appear to conflict with the fact that neither the advertised breakfast nor housekeeping are currently being offered, ostensibly because of COVID. I would not stay here again or recommend the property to anyone else knowing what I know now.
