Lovely Cottage with Lakeside Patio & Dock

This cute 3 bedroom cottage is located within walking distance from the summer home of the Cortland Repertory Theater. The open concept kitchen has new stainless steel appliances with a granite peninsula eating area. The dining room seats 4 with additional seating for 2 at the breakfast counter and 4 more out on the lakeside front patio. The front porch has a handicap ramp with 36 inch wide doors. The living room has a sleeper couch, recliner, internet, LED TV, DVD player, electric fireplace, wine cooler, and a storage place filled with puzzles and board games. The downstairs bathroom has a shower/tub, vanity, toilet, high-efficiency washing machine, and electric dryer. There is a pantry/mudroom at the roadside back door. The upstairs has three bedrooms with knotty pine ceilings. The roadside bedroom is set-up with 2 twin beds and a pack and play. The center room has a queen bed. The lakeside bedroom has a double bed and a twin bed. The front and back bedrooms have window air conditioners (summer season). Heat is controlled by the renter by a thermostat and a propane forced air furnace. There is a front stone patio with chairs, a table, BBQ grill and an umbrella. The lakefront area has a picnic table, a park bench, lakeside chairs, ankle deep lake access and a fire pit. Swimming and fishing are optional and relaxing. The cottage is located 2 miles from Bob's BBQ, 9 miles from SUNY Cortland, and 45 minutes from Cornell, Ithaca College and Syracuse University. Parking is right outside the roadside door. Four ski centers are close by. Highland Forest, Labrador Hollow Unique Nature Center and Lime Hollow Nature Center are nearby and offer great year round hiking and cross country skiing.

Cottage on the lake

We enjoyed our stay at the lake! Rode bikes down to the nearby park, and even a quilt shop. Caught several fish in the morning as well. Unfortunately it rained during our brief stay so we were unable to have a fire in either of the two fire pits. The cottage had a wonderful back porch where we shared laughs and played card games. The sleeping accommodations were terrific. The hosts provided everything you could possibly need.

Pleasant Little Cottage

Richard has done a great job remodeling this pretty cottage. It has everything you need with its own waterfront and excellent swimming. We had a very nice stay with friendly & helpful hosts right next door!

Exceeded expectations

This property exceeded our expectations. It is larger than appears in the pictures. The sunporch is fabulous. Despite cool temperatures and rainy, windy weather we fished, went in the water, had bonfires and s'mores. It is a great area to walk and a lovely path to the lake and dock. Just what we needed.

Enjoyed our Stay (July 31- August 3, 2023)

Ethany and Richard are very hospitable and have a wonderful home with a lakefront view. They have all the supplies needed for a warm and inviting stay. They have a fully equipped kitchen, a washer/dryer, and a great fire pit that faces the lake with a full supply of fire wood. They had a helpful directory of things to do in the area. They are great to talk with and made sure we had everything we needed for a very pleasant stay!

Girl's Getaway

This quaint cottage on Little York lake is absolutely adorable. It is updated, clean, and cozy. We were able to bring our canoe and paddle the lake including going under the Rt 81 tunnel and train bridge. Our accommodating hosts we're friendly and lived only a few short steps away if we needed anything.

Perfect Cottage

We had a great stay to celebrate my daughter’s birthday and Easter. The cottage is in a great location and has a beautiful view of the lake. Although we didnt need to use a lot of the things the cottage is equipped with everything you need for your stay. From pots, dishes, to garbage bags. The hosts are very accommodating a d accessible. Anytime I needed to contact them they got right back to me. I would definitely stay again and recommend staying there.

Great place to be away from the hustle bustle of Ithaca

Hosts (who live right next door) were very pleasant and welcoming. Helped us fix our WiFi issue right away and gave us a great dinner recomendation (Dashers in Homer). The house is a little rustic but clean and with a nice updated kitchen area. Just two of us stayed so it was probably a bigger rental than we needed, but nice to have lots of space to relax in. The weather (another rainy weekend!!!) prevented us from using much of the outdoor space/lake.

Nice retreat

Very clean ,cute cottage ,hosts were ,helpful and hospitable . Not having a bathroom upstairs was a bit of a challenge. Especially since my husband is disabled ,and wears a leg brace that he removes at night . Also, not having cable television was tough. All in all a pleasant stay and would recommend it .

Cozy, well stocked, immaculate, view of lake

We drove up from NC to visit relative in nursing home. Hotel prices were off the charts. Found Richard’s place on Little York Lake. Beautiful enclosed porch with view of lake. There is access to the lake and fire pit but it rained the whole time we were there so maybe we can enjoy the lake features more on next visit. Entrance had ramp so we could bring grandma over for a nice lunch. Bedrooms are up a steep but solid staircase so people should keep that in mind. Beds were comfortable. Bedding supply was adequate. There is a fold out couch on main floor so aunty with arthritis slept down there. Of course that’s not as comfortable as a bed. There is only one bathroom so you have to come downstairs if you get up at night to use bathroom. Kitchen is completely stocked, great fridge. Some utensils should be replaced. Host provided tea and coffee maker and kettle but bring your own coffee. Host lists smart TV but it is not connected to WiFi and DVD player is temperamental. There is strong WiFi connection so plan on watching things on your laptop. Location right off Rte 281 gives easy access to everything. There is the Plantation nursery with tons of gardening items just down the road. Relatively new gift shop near the high school on 281, Anderson’s farm has the best apples and they make a tasty 17 year old cheese. Cortland restaurants are a short drive away. Looking forward to the next stay. Hosts were responsive and helpful.

Perfect little gem

This was the perfect little lodging for our family when we came in town for a baseball tourney. And when I say little- I mean that in a cute way- because this cottage has ample room! Great little lake, we found some hiking trails and walked around the lake a bit. Definitely happy we stayed- absolutely exceeded expectations!

Perfect little place for us to stay for our Daughters Syracuse Graduation. 25 min drive from the university and Skaneatles with lots of cute restaurants & shops.

Short Summer Getaway and a Show

Beautiful cottage on the lake, clean and in great condition. My wife and I enjoyed our stay and will likely return with the family next summer. Easy access into the water allowed us to take a couple of the tubes out onto the lake. So relaxing. We felt like we had the lake to ourselves. The water is very clean and refreshing. We also enjoyed fishing from the shore and dock and caught a bunch of nice sized blue gills. Looking forward to catching some bass or perch next time.

This cottage was a wonderful island of calm during a busy weekend in the area for a family wedding. I can’t say enough good things. Our four kids (ages 6-13) loved it too. Fishing in the crystal clear lake was a particular hit. We hope to be back!
