"One of our best stays ever, from the moment we arrived we were welcomed with delicious whisky and our lovely room. All of the staff were exceptional and the location is perfect. One of the most comfortable beds ever! Wish we had longer."

"Pros: close to other places Cons: where do I start? 1)We picked this hotel because it said there was a gym. Guess what, no gym 2)another reason to pick it was it had a restaurant. Well, restaurant only opened for breakfast 3) let’s talk breakfast. The first day we went for breakfast, there was absolutely nothing available. No coffee, no juice, no bread, no thing they had the worst scrambled egg I have ever tasted with bacon that was done to a crisp. No knives either. From then on, we ended up going to Wetherspoons round the corner for breakfast, paying again for it 4) we were there Mon-Fri. We didn’t have housekeeping once! Even though we explicitly asked for it 5) The shower was a joke. It kept going really hot to really cold every few seconds We hated everything about this hotel. And would never recommend it or stay there ever. Just stay at the travel lodge or premier inn. Would have been better. "

"Excellent choice away from the rush of downtown but close enough for walking everywhere necessary. Lovely river walk or straight down the street to the middle of downtown and the train station. Clean modern rooms with a coffee service and fridge."

"Extremely disappointing stay. The room felt dirty, with sticky surfaces and a carpet that clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly. The overall condition was unacceptable. On top of that, the staff were unhelpful and unprofessional, which made the experience even worse. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone."

"The service was wonderful. The staff helped arrange things like taxis and a horse ride and made sure I got breakfast before an early morning tour (excellent scones!). They were especially accommodating on my last day when I was taking a late train, allowing me to shower and have a place to hang out for a little while in the late afternoon. The common areas feel historic but comfortable and well kept. The rooms are mostly updated but if you want a historic feel, be sure to request it. Pretty much all the rooms are a little different. There’s a lovely walled garden onsite and I got selfies with the Highland cows in the neighboring field. Just know that if you don’t have a car, it’s about a £12-14 cab ride from town. "

"Awesome breakfast menu. Highly recommend the Full Scottish. The fruit salad and cold breakfast buffet was lovely but if you arrive after 09:00h the pastries may all be gone!"
