Decent place, with a few things off

First off I got to the room and it looked fine, jumped in the shower and when I was done realized there were no towels. cold room and I am wet, ha h I always have a towel with me so no real big deal, but annoying. That did get my mind wandering though what else the maid "forgot" to do. I didn' dwell too long on that though, and got a real nice peaceful night sleep. Woke in the morning for a race I was in town for and went to the breakfast. Nothing special, typical hotel breakfast bar, with the exception of a neat pancake machine I had never see before. Had 2 pancakes they were quite good. I decided to have a little bowl of oatmeal as well. When I went over there by the oatmeal I was pretty grossed out to see little ant like bugs crawling all over the the oatmeal condiments like the brown sugar and raisins etc. I quietly told the lady taking care of the bar what I saw. Her reaction was it was because of people basically being slobs and buttering their toast etc and leaving a mess. I kinda bought that, but the more I think about it, I was the first person that morning, there was no one there before me, and to have that many bugs I could see, the condiments were put out with bugs in the jars. The Lady' answer told me she knew there was a problem, and whether she believed her own story or not, it wasn't her fault she did not take them away. Disgusting. Needless to say Saturday night I didn't sleep as well. ;( I decided Sunday to go out for breakfast. A cost I shouldn' have hd

Just passing through

We were searching our phones as we got closer and closer to Chicago hoping to find a decent hotel before we got too close and had to pay more. Wingate is not nestled among g the other groups of hotels, but we found it to be higher rated, later costly, and peacefully quiet!

Staff was friendly, did not like the smell in hallways, smelled like smoke. Which is very irritating.

Quiet & Clean

I Selected this property because it was close to my next morning’s work appointment. While understaffed, it still offered a friendly, clean, quiet and comfortable environment to conduct business and get rest.
