Would not stay again- Disappointing for a RL

Posted Aug 25, 2015
Our room was not ready at check in and the front desk clerk seemed uncertain of how to handle the situation; she sent us away to kill time while they tried to resolve it and did not offer any compensation. Our room had no light at all - no overhead lighting and only 1 lamp in the room that worked. The other lamp was broken. We reserved what we thought was a 2 Queen room (I'm fairly certain that was how it was advertised) and it turned out the beds were full size and not Queen... made it uncomfortable to share a bed even though the occupancy for the room was listed as 4. Very disappointing for a Red Lion.

Very clean. Great breakfast

Posted Aug 24, 2015
Location: Easy access to the highway, hiking, food and the mall.
Staff is not overly friendly, but efficient. Facilities were very clean and well maintained. The breakfast included several hot food items and a good variety of choices. The beds are super comfortable!

They messed up the room and give me a single bed instead of two beds it was the wrong room key did not work. The bartender was rude and thought she knew it all, but other than that it was a good stay.

Nice Place, very busy.

Need an ice machine closer to front desk. Clerk shouldn't have to go fill up ice with people trying to check in.

security and updated amenities not avaiable

Posted Aug 11, 2015
Pros: food was great, front desk great with a few of our concerns, had help with our bags due.
Cons: accessibility.. Security. Cleanliness and upgrade of room and hotel
Location: Great access to train and bus. Park and walking path nearby. Largo shopping mall lots of fast food and great dining.
There were no handicap accessibilities such as elevators or ramps. The outside doors had key card access but did not function. The only way to turn on bedside lites was to plug in or unplug to sleep. There were questionable stains on the bed skirts and sheets looked as if they had not been changed for awhile. Slept on top of the comforter. The toilet had stains on the underside lid as if it had not been properly cleaned. Had stayed at a different Red Lion just last month and had a wonderful stay.

Just off of the interstate

Posted Aug 10, 2015
TV guide was wrong. Even the one on the tv did not have correct information. Call to the front desk went unanswered. Some one picked up the receiver and hang it up without answering. Had to go to the desk to find out what was going on. Breakfast was set up signage to seat your self no sign as to cost. Thought it came with the room. Not sure it was worth the price of the room.

good destination hotel as well as good overnighter

Posted Aug 10, 2015
Pros: Great location, restaurant and staff. Great pool area and spa.
Cons: Perhaps more training for desk clerks before working the desk alone.
Location: The three rivers mall is a mile or so away. There are numerous parks in and around Kelso and Longview. Close to Mt. St. Helen.
We needed a good hotel w/ bar and restaurant for overnight stay and this was it. The food was excellent. My wife said the sea food alfredo was the best she has ever had. The only thing that was not excellent was the fact that a brand new employee was doing check in. She had problems with the process that took much longer than it should have. She was very sorry about it and it wasn't her fault. She should have had more training. Checkout the next day was worse. It took two persons to figure out how not to charge us again for the room , as we had already paid through expedia. All of the hotel and restaurant staff members were great, however, except for that check in/check out problem. The hotel is close to the freeway, but we could not hear traffic noise inside. Excellent, comfortable beds.

Trip to Mount St Helens

Posted Aug 6, 2015
Pros: Wifi was better than expected.
Cons: Update the hotel. Get a new manager.
Location: Mount St. Helens and the White Tail Deer Refuge
This hotel has not been updated in years. The carpet is old and dirty. The room locks do not function most of the time. It took multiple calls to get light bulbs replaced. Three bulbs were out. Why didn't staff report the problem when they cleaned? When I complained at checkout, the front desk didn't offer any reimbursement, pass or even offer to let me talk to the manager.

Should have slept in my car!

Posted Jul 28, 2015
Pros: Easy to see from Interstate exit.
Cons: Fire employees with poor attitude. Perform MASSIVE training in customer service. Build an exterior elevator.
Location: No comment.
No elevator. Only stairs to second level. Check-in clerk at 10:30 p.m. could only talk about how tired SHE was. Gave me poor directions to room. I had 4 luggage pieces as in sales & carried them up wrong stairs. Two keys did NOT open my hotel room door. Hotel room at furthest point from registration. Used my cell phone to call hotel and ask for new key to be made & brought to me, No key after 10 minutes. Called second time. No key in 5 minutes. I walked to the registration desk to acquire replacement key. Fell into bed exhausted at 11:10 p.m. Will never stay at a Red Lion again.
