Affordable modern luxury in Kranjska Gora

We stayed for 5 days in this lovely self-catering apartment in June. The building has 5 (I think) very new, clean and modern apartments. All the amenities worked perfectly. The decor was a fantastic change from the usual soulless hotel interiors. It really felt like home, so much so that our dog did her happy howl the second morning we were there! The local vintage ski photos as wall coverings were a nice decorating touch.
The location is in Kranjska Gora proper and walking distance to everything including a bakery that sells an amazing array of alpine delights and ski lifts. The view of the Alps from the sun deck is unbelievable. The hot tub and sauna were a nice touch, although probably more for the winter traveler. The staff (one woman) couldn't have been nicer or more helpful with local knowledge and made our stay even more fantastic. She also spoke perfect English.
When we arrived we had a lovely snack plate waiting for us in the fridge. There is also a wine cellar with nice choices of some good local wines. I saw the same ones in a store in Ljubljiana for a higher price.
All in all, it was a delightful, homey spot that made a great home base for mountain biking and hiking in the Julian Alps.
