"It's a really cute cottage, but for that price we were expecting way more. The plates weren't clean, too few spoons, no cozy seating area on the terrace, small chairs at the bar, no lighter for the gas heater, the mosquito net was not everywhere closed, so we had on one day a huge amount of animals in the cottage. The area around a little messy and not welcoming. No basic stuff like salt, pepper and oil available (that should be a must have!). The poor dog of the owner was whimpering especially...

Because we were visiting as Hurricane Beryl was forming the staff gave us there local view on what was coming so we could make decisions as we were moving on next to Ambergris Caye. We snorkeled before breakfast on our own around the island and after breakfast Dustin and Ama would take us on kayaks to a reef off one of the neighboring islands where we found conch, and other fresh fish and seafood for our meals. "We stayed at Mariposa when we arrived to Placencia and the last night before we returned home and it was perfect. Gladis was very welcoming at the reception, Donny was amazing at the restaurant and all the staff were friendly and very helpful. The bungalow was perfect for our family of 4, since they have bunk beds. The restaurant was good with a nice view of the ocean. They have nice swings, volleyball court, paddle boards and bicycles which is perfect to go in town. It’s less than 5 minutes drive from Placencia airport. The only thing is the ocean has so much seaweeds that it wasn’t nice to go in the water. Which is fine since we didn’t stay at this hotel for the ocean but just be aware that this strip of the island gets a lot of seaweeds…"

"We had an amazing time at Sirenian Bay. We stayed in the off season which made it feel like we had the whole resort to our selves at times. Everyone was so kind and helpful. There were people maintaining the grounds at all times which shows they really care about their little slice of heaven. The food was super fresh and always delicious. We would without a doubt stay here again!"
