The Big Round Cabin - Blowing Rock, Hot tub, Secluded acreage, fabulous views

WHY WOULD YOU EVER STAY IN TOWN DEAL WITH NOISE AT ALL HOURS, AND STAY IN A ROOM THAT FEATURES NOTHING? We are a new VRBO Creation with fantastic wooded views! Escape to your own private 50 Acres of woods and the best views in the North Carolina mountains for the Town of Blowing Rock. This cabin combines all our learnings into a romantic, family friendly end of the world get away, yet only 3 miles from the shops of downtown Blowing Rock. Modernly rustic, gather your self up for 240 degrees of mountain views across the John's River Gorge to Grandfather Mountain, or relax in our Hot Tub Hut spa and prepare your meals in our kitchen or on the grill. Hike our mountain road down onto the lower acreage and explore the woods and streams of the Pisgah National Forest. Sleeps 6 with 2 on the main level and 4 in the lower level. Just check out our photos for visuals of all of this!

We are not a hotel but true to the vacation rental experience, which is we want to share our special location with you. We strive to keep our cleaning fees low, and we are generally 1/2 our competition on cleaning fees, but we expect you'll help us keep up with everything as you go as well. Some folks are looking for hotel standard everything or an vacation rental just like they stayed at in some big city. Thats not us ... we are catering to those of you who want seclusion, your own piece of heaven and of course the BEST views in Blowing Rock. We are 5 secluded acres in the woods ... our reviews feature guests who enjoy that experience and the occasional guest who doesn't get it and worries they may run into bugs & spiders outside, gets worried about a drive on a mountain gravel road, or didn't get it when we said we are "off the beat path". We are off the beaten path, come in enjoy the experience, know what we are about on the way in .... and thats why you booked us. We also do allow some pets under 50 pounds that you discuss with us prior to booking. We do not provide any food of any type, including coffee, especially during COVID. Thanks for looking at our cabin!

From the unmatched, far-reaching views along the Blue Ridge Parkway, to the quaint storybook mountain village, Blowing Rock, North Carolina is truly deserving of the title: "Crown of the Blue Ridge." Here you'll find popular family attractions including Tweetsie Railroad and The Blowing Rock, a plethora of unique downtown shops and outlets, and outdoor adventure ranging from hiking and biking to spelunking and bouldering. It's a venue for adventure, but also a place for ultimate relaxation. Indulge in a spa treatment, sample scrumptious vittles at our award-winning restaurants, or enjoy the hospitality at our local inns, bed and breakfasts, resorts, cabins or hotels.

Other things to note :
Please read our house rules . You must agree to these rules within 48 hours of booking via an online electronic “I Agree” statement back to us that you agree that your stay is bound by these house rules. We do this in leu of a written contract, we are happy to provide a written copy upon request.

Pets are only welcome if we discuss them in advance of booking your trip for our approval, including their type, weight (we allow under 50 pounds always, but ask us if larger), age (No puppies or cats ever!) and number of pets (generally we allow 1, but if they are very small maybe two if they already live together), always with an added fee per pet, agreement to use a pet crate if you ever leave them in the house and always let me know if you plan to bring one in advance of booking. Pets are not allowed on or in beds or on furniture.

Guest count - When you book with us we will ask you your guest count, this is then used for COVID-19 awareness and cleaning planning. You can not change or add guests without notifying us for approval. We reserve the right to not approve an increasing guest count prior to the trip, and we reserve the right to stop your trip if your guest count increases without asking our permission first. We hope you understand, but we do not just turn our cabin over, we require communication prior to guests being added regardless of the cabin’s potential for more guests.

After 4 guests we reserve the right to add a second cleaner for an additional $100. We try to keep our prices low when the guest count is low, after the first four guests we charge $35 per night per guest extra on all stays.

The Cabin is in the Mountains. The approach to the cabin means that you are comfortable driving a road in the woods, including driving up and down small roads. Snow & ice are conditions you may find December 1 through March 31st we provide a shovel and a limited amount of rock salt at the cabin. Are you prepared for Snow and Ice for you, all guests, and your car is a question you must ask yourself when visiting us during the winter. We can’t forecast the weather, nor can we make it stop if it starts :-). Hence you need to be certain you can take care of yourselves and car (snowchains, or AWD, or 4x4 are the best options). In the event of a winter storm during your stay we will instruct you on where your vehicles will be placed for your safety, this may involve a short walk from that location to the cabin door . In general snow fall is light and usually melts the next day. Most of the gravel road is county maintained and thus cleared, however the last .5 miles up to the cabins is in a private neighborhood where snow removal is a group, best can do, best effort basis. That said we drive our Jeep 4x4 through all snow in and out of the same roads all the time, and we are used to snow. The winter months are wonderful months in Blowing Rock, great for a fire, some out door hiking, tubing, skiing and hot tubing, pls be vigilante on the weather as its usually in a forecast, and you can put yourselves and your cars in the right places for total success.

We are providing you a License to use our Cabin similar to that of renting a car, as a licensee you are bound to the cabin rules at all times, and you forgo the rights of a "lease" or "tenant". Violations of our cabin rules can result in your immediate removal from our cabin, by renting our cabin you agree to these terms. If you'd like a full copy of the license please let us know in advance and one will be provided to you.

WIFI - Its Satellite based. That means it has a delay and is not ideal for 2 way communication such ZOOM. Second it means that during a storm the weather can cloud out the connection and your WiFi may degrade. Most guests have found it great, streaming is possible if the weather is good, and we’ve had guests work and play in our cabin with out issue, but we do point this out as there are no buried cables or fiber on our remote properties.

Fireplace - Cabin is equipped with a gas fireplace, with an automatic timer panel to control the fireplace. We’re here for support on fireplace use as needed.

Lost in trees and beauty
This was a quick getaway and our first time in the NC mountains. The views were beautiful. We spent our time enjoying the quietness, reading in front of the fireplace and just a lazy few days. The house was very clean and comfortable. Will definitely want to come back again.

FABULOUS!!!
This cabin was perfect for us! *I saw in one review where a smaller vehicle made it up the driveway just fine...we had to put it in 4wd in our Tundra a couple of times. I'm sure front-wheel cars have an easier time than our heavy truck. *This place is SUPER CLEAN! We were very impressed. *The views were incredible - from inside the house (with all the windows) and outside on the upper deck, and from the hot tub on the lower deck. *The hot tub was super clean also. The jets were perfectly strong for us. Please note there is about a short, 25-step walk to the hot tub on the lower deck. There is no direct access, from the house directly onto to the lower deck. This wasn't a problem for us, just a note for anybody that needed to know that. *The kitchen was very well stocked. The online photos make the bathroom and kitchen look a bit cluttered-this was not the case at all. Very clean without clutter. *The upstairs bed was very comfortable to us and we are super picky about our mattress. *We watched the sunset each night! *There were plenty of towels for the bathroom and hot tub. *We love the Blowing Rock area and hope to return to the Round Cabin again. We packed in a lot during our 3-night stay. Beech Mountain, a couple of breweries, a vineyard, The Speckled Trout, Mast General Store, Fred's Mercantile Store up on Beech, Banner Elk lunch, The Blowing Rock... *The owner's communication was perfect and we just loved the house! Thanks for the opportunity to stay!

Magnificently Memorable!!
Impressed by Chris' attentiveness...with Winter Storm Ember approaching, he called before we arrived and was at the property when we drove up to make us feel absolutely safe. He succeeded; we never worried and had an amazing time. The everychanging view (cloudless or clouds in sunshine/snow every part of the day) was magnificent and breathtaking from the gorgeous living area with the many, big windows (with fireplace in the middle) without even going out to the deck. However, on the round deck, the view seemed unreal..even saw our first snowbow. The entire house was amazingly cozy and spacious, everything we could need was there and more. We enjoyed the jet tub with the heat lamps above and of course the hot tub:D Thank you for such a memorable stay!!!

Wow! This cabin is in excellent condition, the best we’ve ever seen
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Big Round Cabin! PROS: The kitchen is well stocked and there are plenty of sheets, pillows, blankets and towels, many books, games, everything. We only used the master king bed and it was comfy. That’s on the main level and the other two bedrooms are on lower level. All rooms and bathrooms are spacious. The hot tub got plenty hot and is clean and easy to use. Fireplace is also easy and really adds heat. The host gave us detailed answers to our questions and was delightful and helpful when I met him there. Super quiet and private location. There is another cabin nearby but not occupied when we were there. But the real star of the show: The view! It’s gorgeous, lovely for coffee on the deck in the morning and wine at sunset. Soooo peaceful. CONS: Streaming and any internet not good in the evening. Our host got us dialed in with the DVD player so we were fine. Phone reception can be spotty; we went outside and down driveway a bit to get connection. BUT this is usually the case in the mountains so not a big deal. My Kia Soul made it up and down the road fine in dry weather. It was nice to only have a few turns to remember and some paved roads. Blowing Rock is a delightful town to visit and also check out the Moonjoy Meadery in Lenoir. We loved our time at this cabin and can’t wait to come back.
