"When I went down to breakfast around 8:30 the coffee was gone and there was very little to choose from for food. I also could not find anyone to make more coffee. The hotel was very nice and comfortable. My family was in town for a two day ski trip and this was a great place to rest our heads. "

"We checked in on Christmas Day 2025 and stayed 1 night. The hotel is in the heart of beautiful downtown Red Wing, MN. The hotel was beautifully decorated for the holidays and was warm and inviting. We had brunch at the beautiful Scarlet Kitchen and Bar and the food and service could not have been better. The restaurant was busy, yet the vibe was elegantly relaxed. Our room was a beautiful union of history in modern times. The beautiful 4-post bed was so comfortable and I need to know where I can get a set of those bed sheets! So buttery soft—best night’s sleep! I will be back St. James Hotel. Highly recommend. Beautiful and quaint shops and dining on-site and within walking distance in Red Wing. Beautiful and historic."
