Find hotels in Manaria from $51

The best area to stay in Manaria is the coastal village center, particularly around the harbor and the main pedestrian streets. This area offers the most convenient access to local attractions and dining.

The village center is characterized by its traditional Basque architecture, with colorful buildings lining narrow, winding streets that lead down to the picturesque fishing harbor. You'll find a concentration of local eateries and shops within easy walking distance, making it a pleasant area for strolling. The main square, often bustling with activity, is a central point for visitors.

For couples, the village center provides a romantic and intimate setting. You can enjoy strolls along the waterfront, savor fresh seafood at harbor-side restaurants, and experience the local culture without needing to travel far. The proximity to scenic viewpoints overlooking the Bay of Biscay adds to its appeal.

Travelers looking for a tranquil retreat will also appreciate the village center. While it has local activity, it maintains a relaxed pace, especially in the evenings.

The best time to go to Manaria is generally during the spring (April to June) and fall (September to October) months, when the weather is pleasant and the crowds are smaller.

Spring offers mild temperatures, making it ideal for exploring the coastal paths and the Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve. You'll find the landscape lush and green, and it's a great time for outdoor activities like hiking and birdwatching without the peak summer heat. This period is particularly good for nature enthusiasts and those looking for a more tranquil experience.

Fall provides similar comfortable temperatures, and the grape harvest season in the nearby Txakoli wine region adds a unique cultural element. The sea is still warm enough for swimming in early fall, and the local culinary scene is vibrant with seasonal produce. This time is excellent for couples interested in a mix of outdoor activities and culinary exploration.

While summer (July and August) brings the warmest weather and is great for beach activities, it's also the busiest and most expensive time to visit.
