Had dinner at the restaurant which has great food and drinks with friendly staff. Check in was smooth and our first impression was good. It was a major inconvenience, however that there was no hot water (something to do with the restaurant using it all). We had to go to bed without showers. Additionally, the site advertises continental breakfast from 7-9, but you must know this is not true. Instead, they offer a prepackaged breakfast items in your room. The spread is extensive which great, it's just not as expected. We stayed overnight while in route to a conference. The building was historical and very inviting. The grounds were beautifully scattered with flowers and greenery and very relaxing. The suite style bedroom was cozy, had an old New England Colonial charm and was a delightfully unexpected surprise! The on-site restaurant & tavern was a pleasing step back in time. The food was innovative and tasted fabulous..especially dessert! Service was friendly and exceptional! The evening's Irish musical entertainment was a memorable way to end a long day! We will definitely be returning again! We slept soundly in the cozy bed and woke up refreshed each morning to the tranquil sounds of the countryside. Upon our arrival, we were delighted to find a thoughtful selection of snacks waiting for us, a perfect pick-me-up after our journey.
