modern, clean, eclectic

Pros: Close to the cruise port, but was under renovations and we had to take a taxi from getting off the cruiseship to hotel.
Cons: LIGHTING!
Location: About 4-5 blocks/1/2 mile to the beginning of old port shops and lots of restaurants along the way. Also about 5-6 blocks north to Chinatown.
Location, cleanliness and convenience were all great but lighting everywhere, must be the style, would have been better if I could see. Dim lighting in the elevators and hallways were a little creepy for me, but for the young it would be cool I guess.

Pros: everthing
Cons: more casual dining. Closer parking (I know this would be hard).
This was a wonderful hotel. It looks old fashioned on the outside (I personally liked the art décor architecture) but had very contemporary interior. the staff was very friendly and helpful. the valets were hardworking and cheerful. The location was nice for walking around the city both for the usual tourist sites and quaint neighborhood shopping. I loved watching the horse and carriages go by.

Belle chambre grande, lumineuse et bien équipée. Possibilité de régler l'air conditionné à sa convenance. La situation de l'hôtel permet de se rendre à pied dans beaucoup de sites intéressants lorsqu'on vient visiter la ville.

Not worth the price

We expected better for the price. The room was not ready when we arrived and it was very cold. I'd recommend staying at a chain hotel instead.

This is the second time I stayed at this hotel and will stay again. Location is great as is the staff. However, during this stay there was a false fire alarm at 2:30 AM and the hotel had to be evacuated. Upon checking out our parking fee was comped. Due to the nature of the inconvenience I think they could have been more generous.

Great hotel, left disappointed

Great stay as always. I stay here every time I visit Montreal. Great rooms, always clean, friendly valets. Fire alarm at 2:30 a.m. that was a false alarm from the hotels system. Didn't get comped anything for the inconvience. Not even a free breakfast they sell for $18 or valet parking for that nights stay for $28. After spending $600 on the 2 nights stay and $275 for dinner for 2 at Hambar I expected to get a little something. Going to try out a new place for my yearly winter trip to Montreal for that.

Pros: Location, staff, room.
Cons: The music in lobby was electronic, seemed odd. The elevators were painted black and very dark. The hallway to our room was also very dark.
Overall the hotel was nice and the staff was great.

Excellent staff, great location, fantastic restaurant in lobby. Halls are a bit dark with carpet that needs changing. A fantastic hotel and a great deal. The amazing staff stands out.
