We stayed at the Royal Sonesta for two days. The hotel is beautiful and the front desk staff were always so polite. The only person we weren’t fond of was the security guard. We walked out of the hotel and didn’t know which way to go, so we asked him. He was standing at the door so we assumed he would be polite and answer our question. But he had a little attitude so we let him be. We weren’t going to let him ruin our trip.
Any way, our room was clean, comfortable and the balcony was nice to sit out on and drink while people watching. I would suggest bringing ear plugs when going to bed because it’s so loud at night with people partying until 4 to 5 AM.
If you are a light sleeper i would also suggest getting a room at the back of the building because you’ll get no sleep. The hotel is also walkable to everything. We walked to Jackson Square one morning. It seemed far on the map but it wasn’t. Especially since you’ll have so many shops to look into along the way. We also walked to the casino at night. It was a short distance and safe. All in all we had a great stay.
