4.1/5 Very Good! (1,003 reviews)
First off, it was very clean and we loved that there was no push to buy a time share! The food was OK, but be aware you do need reservations at the 2 restaurants. The buffet was OK, but we wish they would label the food.
The beach is very nice and sandy and you don't need water shoes in the water . We've seen complaints regarding seaweed, but we must have caught it at the right time because while there was some, it wasn't
Also, at the other resort she complained of watered down drinks and that is a big complaint if my wife is saying it, she's not really a drinker. She loved the drinks at Melia, especially at the swim up bar.
Now the complaints: The first one is not the fault of Melia. The Mosquitoes in Sept are HORRIBLE!! We were pretty much barricaded in our room by 6pm.
2) This is on Melia and a VERY big deal. The air conditioner went down to 20 Celsius which is 68 Degrees. The room never went below 23.5 Celsius which is 74.3 degrees. We complained and we were offered another room, asking beforehand if the room went down to 18 and we were told yes. Thankfully, I checked before packing up and it went no lower! What's the point of the move then?
3) The swim up bar closes at 6pm and the beach bar closes at 10pm. (With mosquitoes it was a non- issue, but possibly an issue at another time of year). Inside Level bar and buffet bar is open until 1a.m
In closing, if they fix the air conditioning we would stay there again. But as it is, we will try somewhere else.
