Best location in town

Great place to stay. Can't beat the central location and beach view. Great friendly and helpful staff. Beds were not the most comfortable but it is a budget friendly price.

WORST STAY IN BELIZE

Posted Mar 24, 2017
Pros: The TV had Netflix and other cool stuff.
Cons: Accuracy and honesty in the description of these rooms and the hotels location. And, pricing that better reflects what is being offered.
Location: In the back, on one side you have a Flee Market that is sketchy at best, and on the other side, you have a cemetery.
Driving up to this place was the beginning of our nightmare but we maintained an open mind as we parked in the hotel's parking lot which also doubled as the CEMETERY parking and sketchy FLEE MARKET. The front of the hotel looks like its on the beach. That's not exactly true. In fact the only view that all basic rooms (except the 2 that are on the top level) get, is a either the laundry room, or what appears to be a utility room (that's the one we got). The Expedia pics make it look like you'll be relaxing on a Hammock while watching the sun go down over the beach..Well.. If you get the upgrade, you might get a shared hammock but you'll be overlooking a graffiti'd sign and a few trees. Inside of the room, we had to kill our pet cockroach but what finally did it for us was the fact that not only was the shower floor slimy, as well as the water faucets themselves, but the water pressure was the lowest we had ever seen. To put things into perspective, we had travelled all over Belize, from San Pedro, to San Ignacio, to Corozal and more. We had stayed in 4 different hotels and a hut in the Cayo forest. We were not expecting a palace but for double the price of other rooms nearby, this was completely horrible. Their are many nice places in Placencia and they were all cheaper. We know this because we tried to rent them but at the time, it was Saint Patty's day and everything was booked.

Like staying with friends, entertaining, relaxing. Easy access to beach, restaurants, pubs, grocery stores. Older building but very clean and comfortable. Owners/ staff were helpful and fun. Would stay again.

Disappointing hotel

Posted Jan 19, 2017
Pros: good location and good shower
Cons: This is a hotel but acted like an apartment. I had to make my own bed and buy my own soap. They need to buy new mattresses and sheets.
Location: Fairly close to the beach but no view from room. Many restaurants and bars close by
We recently stayed at Serenade for a week. It is in a good location however, I would never stay here again. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and very old. We stayed in the 2 bed, family room. The first night we slept in the double bed and kept rolling to the center so the next night I slept in the twin bed. I expected them to clean the room and make the beds and they NEVER did. Our room floor was full of sand and the sheets on the twin bed came off every night so I was laying on the mattress. They never brought us any new towels, only 2 clean wash clothes and we had to buy some more soap at the store.

Intimate and Friendly Local Owners

Posted Jan 8, 2017 on Orbitz
Pros: Location, owners, and down to earth vibe. Offer complimentary amenities like beach chairs, towels, cooler. Communal kitchen lovely.
Location: Beach and gorgeous crystal clear ocean. Great local restaurants Rick's, Cozy Corner, Shack, De-tatch. Dive/Snorkel shops, grocery stores, veggies.
Had a great time getting to know Lance and Veronique. Great hospitality. Super central to Placencia.

Great little place!

Posted Jan 1, 2017
Only complaint was the bed not very comfortable. Local place, onsite manager very helpful. Don't need to pack a lot of clothes so the shortage of dresser space isn't so bad. Not an all-inclusive resort, but way better. We enjoyed the staff and being close to the beach. Close to restaurants local grocery stores which made it very convenient. Would definitely go back!

centrally located and friendly

Posted Mar 27, 2016
Pros: The friendliness of the staff is what I liked most.
Location: This hotel is centrally located and on the main sidewalk. Entertainment, the beach, and a variety of foods in every direction.
The Staff anticipated my arrival and greeted me by name. They are very friendly and accessible at all times. My requests for clean towels or any necessity were acted upon immediately. We stayed in an upstairs room and a quite comfortable hammock was on our shared lanai.

Good location

Posted Nov 30, 2015 on Hotels
We enjoyed our stay overall. The location was good and we were able to use the beach near by. The town its self was quiet but had potential. The hotel offers a room and coffee little else, but it was clean. Pillows could definitely be better. It was easy to get around from this central location. Don't expect a 5 star place and you will be happy.
