Decent hotel

Good and accommodating staff. Under renovation at the time of our stay but minimal disturbance to our stay. Pool was nice and our daughter enjoyed it a lot.

Front Desk Needs to Get it Together

Posted Mar 23, 2018
Pros: Price is right; good location
Cons: Management needs to immediately revisit check-in procedure and key-card logistics.
Management has a lot of improvement to make in terms of how this place is run. I've stayed here about five times in the past two years while visiting family. Three out of five times, the key cards I was provided did not work and I had to drag everything back down to the front desk to get another set made, waiting in line once again. This most recent time (3/16), I thankfully saw a staff member in the hall who opened the room for me so I could leave my suitcases there. I then went down and waited in a long line. However - at 8:00 the following morning, another guest woke me up when she was repeatedly swiping her key card and pushing on the door over and over, trying to get into the room (despite there being a Do Not Disturb sign right in front of her). When I spoke to her through the door ("Um, helllllllo, this is not your room and I was sleeping!"), she showed me the front desk gave her key cards in a folio with the SAME ROOM NUMBER written on it. Had the key worked, and had I not put the safety lock on, that could have been a very dangerous situation. It was still frightening, disruptive and annoying. Enough so, that I took the time to write this. Get it together, guys. You should be ashamed of how poorly you are running things. I am a frequent traveler and have never had this happen - not to mention, repeatedly - at any other hotel. Also - the hallways and rooms are extremely dingy and in desperate need of refurbishment.

Some good - Some not so good...

Posted Mar 19, 2018
It appears they renovated part of the hotel. We were here with a Dance competiton and they were obvisiously not ready for a group. Several things were lacking... No ice machines available so we ordered from the front desk and it never came, the shower was weak and changed between cold and hot, the room was way too hot and no way to change it. The people that work there are very nice and try to be accommodating however it seems they are under staffed. The poor bartender was jammed Saturday night with people trying to order food trough the bar to bring back to their rooms because someone ordered room service at 10:45pmish and it arrived to the room at 1:35pm. Unfortunately, I would not be able to recommend this hotel based on our experiences. It could be nice but they have some work to do.

Good for business stay

Posted Feb 3, 2018
Pros: Proximity to Route 1 is convenient, and nearby restaurant (Salt Creek) is excellent. Public spaces have a nice, modern vibe, and the rooms are fine.
Cons: Room REALLY NEEDS more outlets. One, old-fashioned outlet on the table just doesn’t work any more, with all the devices most of us have.
Location: See above. Good location. Originally, Forrestal Village had some shopping and interest, but it’s unfortunately pretty dead now.
Check-in took about 1/2 hour. Staff member forgot I’d given him ID and credit card. Had to do that twice. Staff member couldn’t enter email correctly. Couldn’t find my rewards account. Forgot and made keys twice. It was ridiculous. There was no room service menu in my room; that had to be delivered. (The operator told me, “It’s in the desk drawer.” As it happens, in this room there is no “desk drawer.” Then I was charged $100 for my room service (of a side dish), and that charge needed to be reversed. Overall, a young, incompetent—or at least untrained—staff. In room, the toilet needs repair. It ran incessantly; I had to take the cover off the tank and operate it manually. Problematic.

Very Disappointed

Posted Jan 13, 2018 on Hotels
We have always looked for the Westin brand when travelling in US and abroad, so it saddens me to say that this Westin was well below the standard we've come to expect from them. To name a few of the shortcomings of this one: - the lobby was nice but the room was tired and in need of a refresh - We had to jiggle the toilet handle after each flush to stop it from running - The bathroom faucet leaked - The pillows were awful – We always request foam pillows when making reservations – the ones I got were feather pillows. I had to ask the front desk for foam pillows and they were devoid of foam and limp - The hallway light fixture was cracked - There were not enough outlets – needs updating - On the 2nd day of our stay the room keys just stopped working - The coffee packets were clearly made for a different coffee maker - The "free" Nestle’s water was greasy - There were dead flies on the window sill The one redeeming factor was that the staff was nice, but the quality of the accommodation was not worth the price.
