Perfect location

Home away from home

We had an amazing stay at Margate Gardens. Host was amazing and the listing was on point. Hoping to make this our permanent vacation rental. You can’t ask for a better location, beach right across the street and a small mall next door. Awesome food within walking distance. My family had a blast!!🏝️🏝️🏖️🏖️

Extremely spacious and clean accommodation. Well layed out inside with huge balcony. Pool and grounds were immaculate. Kitchen had everything we needed and there were additional supplies for the beach eg. Beach towels, boogie boards, snorkel mask & fins, beach chairs. We will definitely rebook on our next trip to Barbados.

Great vacations

The apartment is perfectly clean and everything works well, the bathrooms, the air conditioning and other equipment and the kitchen is very well equipped. Beach items and diving equipment in good condition. The owners Rod & Wanda and Jamella were very attentive and attentive whenever we were well. Very well located and close to everything: shops, beaches and supermarkets. The pool is very well maintained and beautiful gardens. One hundred percent recommended.

Beautiful property in a great location

This condo was really spacious and clean. The gardens and pool are very well kept. The open kitchen, living area and large covered patio made it very comfortable. We really enjoyed sitting on the patio every night and the humming birds in the day are fun. We met several long time neighbors who were really friendly and offered great happy hour suggestions and places to go. The location of this condo is right across the street from the beach with a great boardwalk to Many restaurants and beach access. This also included maid service. Overall this was a great spot to stay and we would visit again.

Perfect - great location

We had a lovely stay at Margate Gardens. The condo did not disappoint and we were very comfortable. The location was good and it was very easy to get around. It was our first trip to Barbados and we thought it was an amazing place. We enjoyed a boat trip to swim with turtles, fish, coral reefs and ship wrecks. Would recommended visiting Harrisons Cave and the Animal Flower caves. There were so many places to eat and we enjoyed cocktails across the road at the chill bar. Great Condo!

This condo is exactly as described by Rod and Wanda and the pictures. The location is great too. It is close to the boardwalk and Accra Beach and several good restaurants are within easy walking distance. My wife and I have called Grand Hibiscus our home for five weeks and our son and his wife joined us for much of that time. The condo comfortably accommodated the four of us. We were truly sorry to leave! Margate Gardens is a delightful gated community with lovely grounds and friendly , helpful neighbours. Rod and Wanda are attentive owners who are good to deal with and go out of their way to please, as does Jamella, the on site property manager. If we have the opportunity to return to Barbados we'll be heading for Grand Hibiscus again,

Simply perfect!

We spent a perfect 2 week vacation in this peaceful, safe, clean and perfectly located condo. If it is available, choose it with your eyes closed. The condo is bigger than we thought. Cleaning service mid-week. Well-equiped. Wonderful balcony (third floor). Margate Gardens is the place to stay: swimming pool, flowers, hummingbirds... Accra beach is a 10 minutes walk on beautiful Boardwalk. We loved Hastings and we loved Barbados. Great restaurants: Tapas, Naru, Champers and our favorite Cafe Salt. We did not rent a car. Took the private mini vans (3.50 BB $) and a few taxis. Went to several different beaches: Brighton, Carlisle Bay, Dover,... all the beaches were clean (sand and water). Visited Mount Gay (rum tasting), Harrison’s Cave, Andromeda Gardens and loved every attraction but if you have to choose only one, go to Hunte’s Gardens! Many thanks Rod and Wanda We will be back...

Outstanding vacation home!

There is little more I can say that hasn't already been expressed, but I will try! From the moment we walked through the front gate onto the grounds of Margate Gardens we were smitten! The grounds are a lush tropical retreat that immediately puts the mind into a zen like state. It's a little piece of paradise on one of the best islands. The condo itself was also outstanding. Nicely decorated, clean and refreshing. The kitchen had absolutely everything we needed. The beds were so comfortable that I my sleep was not interrupted in the least. TV had many channels but quite frankly, we didn't have it on all that often. The balcony is a magical place! So well furnished, over looking the gardens and pool. We spent our mornings and evenings on it, enjoying our morning coffee, afternoon cocktails and evening dinner! The location couldn't be better if you decide to go without renting a vehicle. The local buses are a breeze to take and many local restaurants are within walking distance. We did visit several of them - Tapas, Chutney's, Akee's (the absolute best Roti!). We were lucky to meet up with a local resident and he was gracious with his time taking us around to the local coffee house at the Garrison. The food was outstanding (Barbados Coffee house) and if you get an opportunity to visit it you won't be disappointed. We had no issues during our stay. Everything was in perfect working order. I've rented many many homes and by far this one is tops! The Barbados itself is enchanting and Margate Gardens is a homey, comfortable piece of Barbados. Rod and Wanda were fabulous to work with. We'll be back!

Would return again and recommend to friends.

We would stay at Margate Gardens again. Rod and Wanda were very helpful in setting up the reservation and answering any questions about the property and the services within the vicinity. Natalie provided a warm welcome and made the long day of travel a little easier. The condo is very easy to find thanks to simple instructions from the rental car agent. The complex is very clean and the pictures show the interior of the condo very well. The balcony and the teak furniture is a huge plus. The air conditioning units are very quiet, efficient and cool off the room within a half hour. The other families at the complex were polite and one of the residents, who is a long-time resident of Barbados, apologized for the first two days having an overcast afternoon. The condo is across the street from Tapas restaurant, which is the best in the area. Blakey's is also good for the oceanfront Caribbean bar. There is also Mama Mia's, which is within walking distance, and an option for authentic Italian food. Naru had great food, but really bad service. Champers was closed due to construction and renovation for, what looked like, a big expansion. While there is an iMart in the mall next door, a car is recommended for the Super B grocery store. Bridgetown, Crane Beach, Miami Beach and the eastern/western coasts of the island are all worth a visit. The modern boardwalk across the street is maintained throughout the week and provides a beautiful walk along the shore. Rockley Beach, at the eastern end of the boardwalk, has a few guys that rent sets of beach chairs. Two chairs and an umbrella for 30 Barbados dollars, all day, is a great deal. If you are there for peak season, get there by 10 am for a good spot on the beach and the parking lot. The coolers in the condo were a nice addition for the trip to the beach. We already look forward to returning to Hastings. The warm weather and sun was quickly missed when we returned to snow and near zero temperatures in New York. Thank you.

Great Holiday

We stayed at this Condo for 2 weeks from Sept. 24 to Oct. 8, 2016 sharing with our 2 friends. We each had our own washroom which was convenient. Plenty of room. It was clean and well maintained and was a great location. Close to many restaurants and bars, groceries and the beach. The condo had everything we needed and was as shown in the pictures. We didn't have a car and used the buses which were wonderful. It cost only 2 Barbados dollars and at times very entertaining. People were very friendly and helpful at Margate Gardens and everywhere we went. We enjoyed the pool and the beach. It was great to have the beach chairs, boogie boards and a cooler. Even though the beach was across the street it was literally only 2 minutes walk. The beach was clean and sandy, no need for water shoes. The boardwalk was unique and convenient for walking to the beach and several restaurants. If not at the pool or beach we stayed on the large, comfortable balcony with a great view of the pool and partial view of the ocean. The only negative is how expensive most grocery items are. The quality of some of the produce was mediocre at best. We ate breakfast only at the condo. You may wish to bring some coffee and some snacks as both are very expensive. You can get good fruit at the Farmer's Market nearby at the Art Splash on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Given this we enjoyed the abundance of restaurants nearby. You can eat at just the restaurants at the Lantern Mall next door. However, there were so many other good restaurants like Tapas directly across the street on the beach. Tapas is a 5 star restaurant with impeccable service and delicious food. We also really liked Ackee Tree, a family run West Indian restaurant that we frequented several times. Super friendly and really reasonable prices. We also had a great time at Cafe Sol, a Mexican restaurant in St. Lawrence Gap. Go for Happy Hour and pick a night they have your favorite drink 2-1 all night. Wednesday night is Margarita night with live music. Rod and Wanda, the owners, were great to deal with and answered all of our questions promptly. Jamella, the Property Manager, took care of us and was available if we needed her. Nakita, the Maid, was excellent as well keeping everything clean and being so friendly. We would highly recommend this property and plan on returning in the future.

OMG PEACEFUL, CLEAN, AND AMAZING

I thoroughly enjoyed staying here and I play to boom again for next year. I felt as if I was home. I wish there was a AC unit in the living room as I would have loved to enjoy it a little more. However, I still enjoyed my stay. I even wrote a note in the guest book. Thank you so much for allowing me to spending a few days in such a beautiful home while spreading the gospel.

Perfect Vacation Escape

This condo in Barbados was the perfect vacation escape with an ideal location. It was spotless, exactly as pictured, spacious, and fully equipped. Conveniently located near Oistins, Bridgetown, and right across from Tapas restaurant, it made exploring easy. The friendly and accommodating host provided a helpful welcome package for navigating the island. Highly recommended—definitely worth a return stay.

FANTASTIC VACATION

I stayed for 2 weeks at this property and it truly felt like home. I did not want to leave at all. The condo was so very clean and large and having the beatiful balcony to sit out on and have coffee or a glass of wine while watching the hummingbirds was absolutely perfect. The location was also terrific as there were so many restaurants to try and if you get a chance go to Salt Cafe for lunch and dinner but reserve first since it's quite popular and going to Art Splash for breakfast was also wonderful.. Rod and Wanda have made sure you have everything you need..from beach towels to beach chairs to drinks in the wine cooler...to toys for the kids and so much more. I would definitely stay here again as its great for a single person or a family and is very safe and secure. The other people in the complex were so very friendly and you will definitely have a fabulous and relaxing holiday. I cannot wait to return. Thanks again Rod and Wanda for giving me a memorable and truly relaxing holiday.

Lovely Apartment

need.The pool area is lovely with comfortable loungers, Most days we had the pool to ourselfs. The locations is excellent you are within walking distants of shops, restaurants and bars. Jemella the property manager is very helpfull and on hand if you need her. I would definitely recommend this apartment. There is also beach chairs for you to use and some inflatable, surf boards and snorkel gear. comfortable loungers in tge kitchen

Perfect holiday home

We had an amazing first holiday in Barbados and Rod and Wandas condo is the perfect place to stay. It had everything we needed and more. We were greeted by Jamilla on arrival and she showed us around and provided all the information we needed to know for our stay. We enjoyed spending time on the balcony watching the hummingbirds and relaxing. We also enjoyed having a dip in the pool and we always had it to ourselves. The condo is in a great location to get to the beach, enjoy the boardwalk and head out for something to eat and drink at the lovely local restaurants and bars, we all gave our holiday 10/10 and hope that we will come back to enjoy it again soon.

Perfect place to stay

This apartment exceeded our expectations . From the outside it was very secure and security arrangements were easy to use . The apartments was huge and very well laid out with good size bedrooms and large modern bathrooms . Lots of towels and beach towels too which were a great help . The kitchen was spotlessly clean and very well equipped with absolutely everything we needed . The apartment was in a fantastic location which was important to us . Very easy to walk to some upmarket restaurants and open air bars with a shop next door for essentials like milk , fruit and ice cream ! The balcony was the highlight of the property and had various furniture configurations for relaxing , eating and playing cards . We loved watching the hummingbirds over breakfast . The gardens were very well kept and the pool was never busy but always clean . Would definitely stay here again and we are already looking forward to it !

Phenomenal! Perfect accommodations (generously appointed with the best deck and many updates in the unit this year), location and weather. A stones throw from the beach, great restaurants (❤️Naru), and coffee shops (❤️ArtSplash). The owners and management are fastidious and great communicators- all so quick to respond to any and all questions. When it comes to Margate … it is simply perfect! First time here and will be back!

We were so lucky to stay here for a week and would loved to have stayed longer! Now that we know how great it is we want to come back! Rod and Wanda were extremely helpful from the beginning and always available to provide help or information if needed . They gave great suggestions for places to eat and things to do! They said the location was perfect and it really was! We loved the big porch at condo and enjoyed morning coffee while watching the humming birds . There were big blinds that could be pulled down on the deck for shade or privacy that were much appreciated, and as the condo was on the 3rd floor there was always a nice breeze. The bed was very comfortable along with the AC in the room we had a great sleep every night. The condo was fully equipped, above and beyond. There were beach chairs, lots of beach towels a cooler on wheels and a small library of books that were so useful to take to the beach. Rockley beach is beautiful and just a short walk from the condo. We felt very safe and everyone was so friendly. Lots of frequent buses and transportation close by, but it was easy to walk as well - you could walk to everything you would need. We were lucky enough to be there for the horse races, a 20 min walk or 5 min ride. 10 out of 10 for everything! Greg and Christina Dartmouth, Nova Scotia

Wonderful stay!

Gorgeous and fully equipped apartment with everything needed for a beach holiday. Hosts were very kind and respond quickly to our messages. Perfect for families with little ones, our toddler loved watching people in the pool from the balcony. We hope to stay again!

Fantastic condo!

We just returned from a nine night stay at this wonderful, two bedroom condo, conveniently located within walking distance of the beach, shops, and restaurants. We had a fantastic time! We especially enjoyed eating breakfast on the extra large balcony overlooking the lush, tropical gardens, and pool with a swarm of hummingbirds every morning! Very well equipped kitchen was helpful as well as the beach chairs, fins, and pool noodles, as well as an abundance of beach towels. We did rent a car so we could visit all parts of the island, but ironically our favorite beach turned out to be Rockely within walking distance down the boardwalk. The air conditioning worked great in the two bedrooms.

Absolutely perfect!

Couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay! Not only was everything clean and ready upon arrival, but the apartment was located in a very central and convenient area. We had a wonderful time exploring the south coast and the entire island. Would stay here again! 10/10!
