Bonner Bridge is one of North Carolina's most well known man-made structures of it's kind (The Linn Cove Viaduct on the Blue Ridge Parkway is probably the most well known). This location makes for a great getaway at the Outerbanks to spend an entire day (and night). The location is popular for fishing and is ideal for landscape and astro photography. You can have lots of fun on some of the dunes, although getting the sand out afterwards is a big hassle.

This is one of my favorite images from this location. I love the warm light tones and the shadows that create a contrast in the foreground sand. It is created from a single exposure with only minor modifications made to adjust overall contrast and brightness.

If you are interested in wildlife, the Pea Island Wildlife Refuge is nearby and is a very popular location.

"The property was perfect, location was wonderful, beautiful sound views, pool area was nice, ocean directly across the street, close to either Nags Head or Hatteras. The bed was good, supplies were adequate. Only disappointment was it was not very clean. "Olga was great and checked us in early as the room was ready, thank you Olga! Breakfast was plentiful and filling, the warm apple cider and cookie in late afternoon in the lobby was nice as it was chilly outside, though it did seem one guest had taken up week long residence in the common lounge with feet up on one of the nice leather couches under a blanket for most of the day. Said blanket reserving the couch by the fire when they weren’t using it. Guess there’s a fine line to walk on asking one guest to be considerate of others. The studio suite was fantastic, clean and spacious with all the room to enjoy it and make it a home away from home. I look forward to staying again in the future. "
