booked a week in the londonderry suite for me and my two kids. it's been a gruelling past year, and we three wanted a relaxing stay-cay (we're from austin.), away from the riverwalk zoo. the house is in a historic district, on a residential street. the property is absolutely lovely, including the inviting community outdoor space in the backyard. this IS an old house. there's no hvac (window units in spots, space heaters); it creaks, and there is only so much retrofitting that can be done before one has demolished the place and made a generic hotel. personally, i LOVE real inns ... and i think the owners have done a great job. first thing i did was explore the communal areas and peek into the other open guest rooms ... the place is clean and all the rooms i saw were well decorated ... my bed is super-comfy ... and i indulged in a terrific bubble bath ... check-in was NOT a problem ... got an email, with a code to the house's front door lock ... voila! the little basket breakfast is cute. the neighborhood has a ton of restaurants, many walking distance ... i like having no proprietor on the property. i have been to b&b's where owners helicoptered ... blech! we are really happy with our stay.
