San Benedetto del Tronto is a stunning beach resort town with a rich history and busy fishing port. It has a charming Old Town district with a medieval tower on the town’s highest point. Taste the local cuisine in the seafood restaurants near the marina.

Take advantage of the hot weather in the driest month of July by visiting one of the beaches along the Adriatic Coast. Relax on a deck chair on the Bagni Zappa and enjoy cocktails at its restaurant. Sunbathe on Sabya Beach, the Riviera delle Palme beach or the Bagni Medusa.

Walk or cycle past the palm trees of the pleasant coastal promenade of the Lungomare San Benedetto del Tronto. The boardwalk is decorated with sand sculptures, floral displays and benches overlooking the sea. Stay into the evening, when the strip comes alive with nightclubs and trendy bars.

Just north of the promenade is scenic Pineta Buozzi park, which has tennis courts, a performance venue and a roller skating rink.

San Benedetto del Tronto, which takes its name from a Roman martyr revered by Christian locals, is located in the province of Ascoli Piceno on the Adriatic Coast, on the eastern side of central Italy. Drive east from the town of Ascoli Piceno for 27 miles (43 kilometers) to reach the commune.
