I usually avoid resorts, as I don't like the shoe-box like feeling of the large ones. This resort is great - units are close together but feel somewhat seperate, with their own coves and inner balconies. We splurged a bit and went for the beach-front units with private pools - it was beautiful, and a great way to spend a morning with some room service. I think the resort may be a bit older, and that shows in minor ways in some places. But it was very clean, beautiful grounds, and a gorgeous beach. This side seemed much quieter than the resorts next door. Seems most people don't cross the small rocky point that separates them. Also a nice little snorkeling/swim spot in one corner.
Staff were excellent, and the food was great, if a bit limited. Drinks were strong. Both were fairly expensive but I suppose that's to be expected. There is a block or two of small shops and a few restaurants just outside the resort. Had several great meals at Juanita's. Can also grab some cool drinks, snacks, as well as scooter rentals and taxis.
