When checking in, one of three couples in our group found the only screen -- in a non-aircoditioned room- was missing. When we asked the man who checked us in and mentioned to us he was the owner, he stated he couldn't switch the screen out with another room, or move us to another room, because we were the last to check in. It was 4PM and a steady stream of customers checked in well into the evening. He did tell us the "flies aren't too bad"but we had no choice but to stay and sleep with a wide open window since the rooms were already paid for, we were past the cancellation point, and we were quite a ways from the nearest town, needing 3 walk up reservations. The only security we had that night was a cloth curtain. The next morning, when we asked for some consideration, the man who had indicated he was the owner stated he "was just the manager." Apparently, he sold the place overnight- or lied. The plumbing needs to be replace throughot because when your neighbors flush the toilet, it sounds as if it is right in your room. The floor in our bathroom was very spongy and I seriously worried it might give way.Really -- this place should change it's name to Curly's Dive and Shop. Unfortunately, when I called Expedia the next day, the representative was no help, stating "we'll, you stayed in the room." When I asked to speak with her supervisor, I was eventually disconnected after a long wait on hold. Expedia should either back it's customers better or drop Curly's as a client.
