Overall good. The only exception was a Dinning room employee who had a very poor demeanor. This person need to be trained on customer service skills. I had two negative incidents in two different days. Reported to the front desk clerk.

Front desk staff very helpful & attentive. The room was very clean & comfortable. Great location (you do have to walk a short distance from where taxi drops off, as it is a pedestrian area). Was a bit worried about noise because our room was next to the elevator & faced to the street, but it was very quiet. Would stay there again!

The hotel is located on a side street so the cab dropped us at the plaza and we walked. It was a short walk and was not a problem at all. The hotel held our luggage since we arrived early. They also arranged a driver to take us to the airport when we left. He picked us up at the front door and it was the same price as a cab. The room was on the front of the hotel with a great balcony that looked on to the street below. The door is very solid and blocked out the noise at night.

Was surprised to see beds on top of room. You have to climb the wooden stairs with no handle. Not easy for my daughter who was dizzy and sick after the flight. Told reception. Unfortunately, no alternative room available. Ended up putting mattress on floor which was alright. Breakfast was basic with bread, butter, marmalade, coffee and hot chocolate. But it's enough to start the day. Loads of backpackers and students. Grocery store right next to hostel and loads of restaurants. 2 minutes walk to Sol. All in all, had a pleasant stay.

I have stayed here several times. The location cannot be beat--one can walk to any destination they have in mind! And because the rooms are on the 6th floor the noise from the street is almost non-existent (which is saying something for dead-center Madrid!) This time I was given a choice of rooms; it was most comfortable...and I particularly appreciated the two standard-sized pillows on the bed instead of the elongated single one! The staff is always most helpful...even the concierge at ground-level is welcoming and helpful. The price cannot be beat! For those who want some snacks in their room, don't miss the supermarket on the lower floor of El Corte Ingles...and then there's McDonald's (for those who cannot break the habit!) on the ground floor of the Jerez' building...not to mention all of the taperias within a stones-throw. There is an in-room safe...which I always make use of...and if you plan it correctly you put your documents and most of your money in it and do not open it again for the duration (costing only one euro for the single opening). My privacy is ALWAYS respected, whether I decide to "sleep-in" or decide to get an early start. The housekeeping staff is most efficient.
