Character + convenience = qualityPosted Nov 17, 2015
Pros: Really loved the convenient location, free wifi, staff, breakfast, charming but luxurious rooms.
Cons: The coffee.
Location: Most of the downtown core is within easy walking distance and the waterfront views are spectacular.
I've never been to St. John's before and picked this hotel because of its central location. It's a reconverted historical building and the charming rooms with wooden beams have plenty of character but modern, luxurious conveniences like a spa tub and an in-room electric fireplace. The staff went above and beyond to take care of me, address parking concerns and making sure I knew where all the local attractions were. They're very friendly and knowledgeable about their city. The complimentary breakfast was wonderful and fresh, though I wasn't a fan of the coffee and wish the cream was 18% instead of 10%, but then I'm a coffee snob.

Perfect Location for Exploring Downtown St. John'sPosted Nov 16, 2015
Location: You can walk to Mile One Centre and all shops and restaurants within the downtown area. It is a five minute walk from George Street as well!
Great overall stay! Very close to Mile One Centre if you are visiting for a concert or hockey game. The room was clean, spacious, and the bed was very comfortable! I liked the electric fireplace and wood beam ceilings. The towel warmer in the washroom was a nice touch as well. The hotel was very quiet. I didn't hear anyone in the hallways. I would highly recommend this hotel for a stay in St. John's. The price was great as well!

Murray PremisesPosted Oct 27, 2015
Beautiful clean hotel. Excellent location. Friendly helpful staff. Could use more bath amenities. Only the bare minimum provided. No body wash just small bar of soap. Recommend bringing own shampoo and body wash.

Great hotel, close to amenities, fabulous staff.Posted Oct 20, 2015
Pros: The staff and proximity to the city.
The most enjoyable aspect of our visit was the staff. Our check in achieved quickly by Kate ,who gave us lots of information re restuarants close by and places to visit. The following morning we were greeted by Oz in the breakfast room who during our 10 day visit was helpful in imparting knowledge about our surroundings with tremendous information. The Murray Hotel was second to none in it's treatment to their guests.

Great Location!Posted Oct 19, 2015
Checked in early at 3:00 pm. Room was ready and it was a super fast checkin. Location was great. We were able to leave the hotel and walk the downtown area. Breakfast was ok, nothing fancy. Room was romantic and quite large. Overall we were pleased.

Direkt am Hafen und Centrum!Posted Oct 15, 2015

Great view, clean room, friendly staffPosted Oct 6, 2015
Pros: Clean, great staff, jetted bathtub
Cons: Add a swimming pool area for kids
Location: The location is superb. Everything is around. Many restaurants, down town St. John's, 3 minute walk to Mile One Stadium.
When I read the previous reviews on the Murray premises I was a bit nervous about staying there but it was one of the best experiences I have had in staying in a hotel. It was very quiet, staff were very friendly and helpful and the room, as well as its' view was great. I would definitely recommend this hotels to others.

Great little Inn in St John's downtown areaPosted Sep 28, 2015
Pros: The location, the cleanliness, the comfort, the breakfast and the lovely staff
Location: Near the harbour and easy walking distance to the shops and restaurants of Water, George and Duckworth Sts. A longer walk and we were at The Rooms.
We chose Murray Premises because of its downtown location, enabling us to walk everywhere. We were also attracted by the included breakfast which was very well done (fresh fruit and berries, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, cereal, bread options, juices, teas and coffee). Initially we had a room on the top floor facing the harbour. Although the ceiling/roof slanted down towards the windows decreasing our walking space, we appreciated the chalet feeling. In the early morning hours when guests arrived back from their evening out however, we were disappointed by the lack of sound proofing between rooms. Next morning we were changed to another floor by a very friendly and helpful front desk staff and our remaining nights were fine. It is a clean, comfortable, personable inn and I wouldn't hesitate going back.
