"My train arrived prior to Check-in time, but the hotel gave me a room that was ready, so I could enjoy the afternoon touring Reggia Caserta after getting refreshed in the room. My paper tickets for 2 events got soaked with water on the train. The front desk very kindly reprinted my tickets, eliminating any chance that I would be rejected at the entrances. "

"This is a great hotel--staff are attentive, the rooms are comfortable, and their restaurant serves excellent food and a wonderful breakfast buffet (everything from eggs to meats to pancakes to yogurt to pastries). It is conveniently located 10 minutes or so from the train station and royal palace. One negative is the street hustlers in the area washing car windshields, etc. In short, you're not going to take a walk around the neighborhood. However, the hotel is like a little fortress with locked gates all around. You feel safe and at-home inside. For the price, I highly recommend Grand Hotel Vanvitelli."

"If you travel from US under any circumstance do not accept room 108!!! Nothing was working in that room : fridge, AC, TV, shower was leaking water outside of the shower and the drain was really slow. After numerous complaints our room was changed after 24 hours of suffering (96 degrees F). Immediately after we moved, the room was assigned to a different guest from the US. The only positive: housekeeping is great and location. The breakfast is mediocre. The palace is about 30 min walking distance, and grocery store 2 min walk. The electricity works only if you have a special key plugged in, so when you leave the room everything is shut down including the fridge (if you’re lucky to get a working one). Will never return!!! "
