This hotel is opposite to the Kanazawa station. The room is clean and the amenities are made by La Mer de Thalgojapan. The room enjoys a wonderful view over the city. 8 restaurants and the breakfast at the Japanese restaurant with an outdoor garden is great.

it was a clean hotel, all what was expected there.
We would recommend to update it. Going to a breakfast area was like stepping in time. Furniture is probably as old as 20 y.o. Carpet is worn out, etc.
Otherwise good value for money.

If touring the city this is 30 min walk or 10 min bus to tourist areas but super efficient as it's adjacent to train station.
NOTE: 3 things you need to know about expedia and IGH
1. when using Expedia the IGH does not honor your status or give you any points for the stay
2. expedia must ensure this is more clear when making bookings
3. IGH should re-evaluate this and give points no matter where booking is from as money paid is the same...no excuses

The hotel is cozy but can use some renovations. The dinner was not typical Japanese but with Western dishes and are very well presented and delicious. The owner Yasuda San was so kind to keep our leftover fruits until end of the day. I would return to stay here again.

My husband and I spent two nights at this lovely ryokan in Takayama and we had an amazing experience! I called ahead to let them know about my shellfish allergy and they were very accommodating with my meals. They also arranged a car to pick us up from the train station upon our arrival to the city and we had a mini welcome party once we got to the hotel. Yuki was assigned as our point person and her English was very good! She was a lifesaver and also very patient with us as she described all of our different food options and guided us on Japanese cultural traditions. For the most part we took this time to relax so we spent a lot of time at the hotel. In the afternoons they would bring us tea, and while we were at dinner they would make our traditional Japanese style beds, which by the way are way more comfier than I expected them to be, and even though it was cold outside, the room temperature was always very nice and the beds very warm. They also have different onsens that you can visit, including one that's mixed, and they provide you with everything you need to make your stay as comfortable and stress free as possible.
All in all, we highly recommend this place and we would go back in a heartbeat!
