Excellent location right next to the Porte de de France (main gate to the old town, also called Bab al-Bahr) with easy access to both the old town souqs and the new town shops, restaurants and bars. It is also an easy 10 minute walk to the main train station - Gare de Tunis - to make train trips to El Jem, Hammamet, Sousse, and other locations, which can be booked online or easily at the station. The hotel is the beautifully restored former British Embassy with lots of character, color, and charm. Breakfast buffet seems to have improved, with made to order omelets, fresh juice and lots of buffet items. Friendly reception staff speak French and English and can help you with a car and driver to visit Dougga ruins and other sites. Taxis are on meter and very cheap to visit Carthage and other areas near Tunis. I recommend late afternoon and sunset beers at the 10th floor Jamaica Bar located inside Hana International Hotel, just a 10 minute walk away. Recommended!
