Great Stay in Grace Bay!

Posted Aug 26, 2016
Had a great trip to Turks and Caicos thanks to the staff at the Alexandra Resort. The resort was nice and the location can't be beaten! Check in process was quick and easy, and though my room wasn't ready, they held my bags and got me set up at the pool. They emailed me shortly thereafter to let me know when the room was available which was a nice touch. The beach was gorgeous and well equipped with paddle boards, kayaks, chairs, and umbrellas. I did miss the chance to order anything food or drink wise from the beach or pool. Wish they provided this service! The room itself was great- a little bit of a schlep to get to as all the entrances are facing away from the pool Etc. So you have to walk around- but I actually think that helps with noise Etc. So I didn't mind. Air conditioning in the room was great, there was a mini-kitchen which helped off-set the cost of meals which can be pricey in Turks. Also had a washer and drier which I didn't expect but happily used! The resort gave me a $15 breakfast credit, but sadly, I didn't find out about this until the last morning. Wish I had known! Breakfast at Asu was fab. The lunch menu is a little limiting for a vegetarian but I did enjoy my dinners there. The view is to die for. Other restaurants are walkable on the beach. The hotel provides a shuttle (at a cost) for a grocery store trip. On an aside- bring cash! A lot of the local places don't take cards and cabs don't either.

This hotel is wonderful

Posted Aug 23, 2016
Pros: Everything. The location, the service, the food, the room, the accommodations and extras that they provided (kayak, snorkeling, swim up bar, bikes).
Cons: Nothing. We loved it! If anything, they could provide a shuttle from the airport, but it's not hard to find.
We had the best time staying at the Alexandra. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. They were lovely to speak with and extremely accommodating. The location is perfect and they have plenty to do around the area. We will be back!

Nice hotel!

Cons: Totally free breakfast. They give you a $15 per person credit for breakfast, it should be all around free breakfast as advertised.
Great experience for me and my wife! I would definitely stay here again.

Nice hotel on the beach

Posted Aug 6, 2016
We stayed in Alexandra and enjoyed our vacation in TCI. The hotel is clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The Grace Bay beach was awesome and we spent most of the time there. We had breakfast at Azu every morning and the food is good, but be ready to spend more than an hour in there as for some reason staff at Azu is very slow. We had a one bedroom suite and it perfectly accommodated our family of four. The room was specious and had a large patio. We rented a car for 2 days, took the boat tour, did parasailing but mostly enjoyed the beach!

Dream Honeymoon

Posted Jul 31, 2016
Pros: Customer service and cleanliness of the room.
Cons: Sweep around the beach chairs in the am and a new bartender at night.
Location: Conch Shack, Fish Fry, All Day Boat Tour, and COCO BISTRO!!!! Don't miss a drink at the Gansevoort.
Amazing staff. Extremely friendly and welcoming (Thanks Jose and the other two ladies...sorry, I forgot your names :(). The staff remembered us always, made up for any mishaps (no matter how minor) and made it a trip of a lifetime. They paid us attention because it was our honeymoon and this really made us feel special and like they were glad we were there. The room was highly UNDERrated! Ours was on the beach with two patios and two dining areas. I am a neat/clean freak and usually prepare to re-clean rooms when I arrive (I know :/), but not this time. Our housekeeper was thoughtful and I looked forward to seeing her each day. The beach...OMG the beach...gorgeous. Plenty of chairs and they have a guy (Jerome-is soooo cool) who will help move umbrellas around and get your towels for you. Sometimes the areas around the chairs needed sweeping because icky people would leave nasty cigarette butts around the chairs, but other than that it was clean. We read that breakfast was slow ahead of time, so we were prepared for the wait and the food was good. There was on one staff member that was awful and he worked the bar at night. His awful attitude was enough to push us to other island bars. Expect to spend a ton of money bc nothing on this island is cheap... even if you purchase your own groceries (a case of beer was 78.00). Cabs are very very expensive, so if you are going to travel around use a resort bike or rent a car.

Nice hotel with free beach activities

Posted Jul 27, 2016
Pros: hotel grounds & beach well maintained, room clean and kitchenette had free coffee, tea and small water bottles (not consistently refreshed daily).
Cons: Customer service at the restaurant was poor. Long waits for water, no automatic refill of empty water glasses, and long wait for food and appetizers.
Location: nice stretch of clean beach with soft sand, calm waters and lots of activities: snorkeling excursions, tubing, parasailing, paddle board, volleyball
Hotel front desk personnel were pleasant and efficient. Appreciated that they offered lots of free activities (kayak, standup paddle board, hobie cat, snorkels, trampoline, bicycles) and first come, first serve chaise loungers and umbrellas. Pool is well maintained and has swim up bar with towel checkout and bathrooms near pool. Alexandra has two sister properties nearby and we were told they allow full use of resort amenities and activities. Arriving on Thursday and getting to attend the local fish fry was a nice was to try local cuisine and it was in close proximity to hotel. Free shuttle to sister hotel and short walk from there. Unfortunately they did not have drink or food service on the beach so you had to cover up and walk back to resort to get drinks from restaurant bar near the beach. Hotel lobby had very small selection of snacks, water or essentials and none of the typical gift shop items. Most outrageous and unexpected part of trip was the cost of transportation via taxi. Every ride no matter the distance was $10-$14 per person each way.

What a vacation!!!

Posted Jul 25, 2016
Pros: Everything!
Cons: Add another restaurant or change up the menu
Location: Can bike to restaurants, shopping, grocery store Groupers restaurant, Turks kebab, Danny buoys.
Great staff!!!! Couldn't have asked for friendlier people. Great beach, clean, tons of umbrellas available, no need placing towels early in the morning to save a spot. Kayaks, paddleboards avail free of charge. Parasailing, tour pick up right at beach. We booked a half day snorkelling tour for three, it rained so hard that day the tour had to be called short. you can't predict the weather and better to b safe than sorry. That night a staff member from the front desk called our room and asked if we wanted to try the tour again, free of charge!!!!!!!! They wanted to "be sure you enjoy your stay with us"!!!! Incredible! Nice warm pool, never crowded. Clean room. We stayed in a king bedroom with pullout couch. huge balcony, bath and a half! nice to have washer and dryer in room. food at restaurant was ok, but a little pricier than if u leave resort to eat. But, we did receive $30 breakfast credit each day. Great to have bikes avail at no charge. 10 min ride to grocery store where u can load up on fruit, drinks, anything else. Also used bikes to go out to restaurants and shopping. We would return! It would be nice to have another restaurant on site as well as a little convenience store/suvenir shop.

We are truly delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us at Alexandra Resort. As we are not a large property, we do only have the one restaurant, but we do offer complimentary shuttles to our 2 sister resorts so that our guests can experience a variety of excellent restaurants on the island. We hope you will try dining at our sister properties on your next visit.
