“The lodge is conveniently located less than 10 mins outside of downtown Helen. It’s positioned on a secluded hillside just off the main 2 lane road. The building and decor does feel a bit outdated but adds to the charm. We stayed in the “Family Suite” which was a split level room. It was great having a separate sleeping area from the kids. I’m 6’4 and had to really bend over to get up the stairs in our suite but wasn’t a huge deal for a few days. We were a bit disappointed they didn’t……

“We were very impressed with the accommodations. The furniture, decor, kitchen was well equipped for a weekend getaway. The suite was perfect for 2 people and our teen slept on the couch, but ended up in the massive king bed alongside us the second night. The Lodge is a cool area for recreating and the bar (opening soon) was a hip little addition—LOVE the ceiling. We enjoyed eating on the back patio in the evening and we even had a visit from a black bear while sitting just outside the back……

“entry/exit door was uneven, extremely hard to open. Maintenance (possible owner) called, he had to kick the door to show us how to open it. Reserved a handicap accessible online, but it didn't show that in her computer (?), luckily they had 1 left.”

“Very nice stay. Loved the area. Sat in the cool air on the front porch in a rocking chair after a long day's drive. Frank was an excellent host. Quiet at night. ”

“We all had a great time and enjoyed our stay. There were minor problems of trying to regulate the room temperature.”

“Linda and Mike were outstanding hosts and welcoming to us. They were accommodating to special diet needs, and anxious to meet our requests. Food was delicious, the sitting area was cozy and our room was perfect. If it were possible we’d give 10 stars. Mike us a tour of the mill and a history of the property that made the whole experience fulfilling. ”

“This is our second stay here. The first wasn’t horrible but it was inexpensive so I couldn’t complain. My second visit was different. I booked a room that stated there was 1 king bed and slept 3. Sounded perfect for 3 of us. That detail is incorrect. The lady at the desk looked at me like I had three heads. I asked for a rollaway. Again, I got the strangest look as she said she’d see if they had one. They did, but everyone involved acted really weird. Well, the mattress was a joke and we might……

“Very comfortable. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. It was great having lovely restaurant and lounge right there. Our room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Highly recommend a stay here.”
