Enjoyed our stay
We loved the location minus the bar crowd that gathered outside our door every evening. Something to consider if you want to go to bed before 11:30 or so. Bedding was not comfortable and some amenities like toilet paper could not be found. Needed to purchase a few more products to get by. Again, loved the location and check in was easy and well explained minus details about sharing passports so that we were registered. Host was upset that we didn’t do this in time, but never explained that there was a timeline or instructions on how to do so prior to ache king in.

GREAT LOCATION - IDEAL FOR COUPLE OR A VERY SMALL FAMILY
A last minute trip and our second stay here. Some small mechanical issues but still a great place to stay for a couple or a small family. San Giacomo del Orio is a quiet area. There are two bars below that provide some noise late into the evening but never a bother to us.The beds were uncomfortable for my wife but not to me . The door didn't latch but this was easily remedied by throwing the bolt from the inside and leaving the key.

Lovely apartment in a great area
The check in process was very good. Manolitas met us at San Stae stop and brought us to the apartment pointing out good places to eat on the way. She gave us all the information we needed and told us to contact her if there was any problems. Directly opposite our apartment was a great bar and beside it a great restaurant. Around the corner was the very lively Campo S. Giacomo da l'Orio which had more good restaurants and a supermarket with helpful staff. It also hosted volleyball games and on one night Latin dancing. Great place.

Disappointing experience
We were disappointed in our stay for a number of reasons: - followed instructions to notify of our arrival but no one was there to meet us. Waited about 20 minutes then called the person who was supposed to meet us. He didn’t get the message (from vrbo app) but came ASAP which was another 30 minutes - as a family of 5 (teems) we were excited there were 3 single beds for the kids. However one was a cot. When my daughter lied on it she fell through! One of the boards was missing & another was broken. We told housekeeping & when we didn’t hear back messaged one of the contacts. Housekeeping told them my son jumped on the bed & broke it! We were so angry about the accusation & they wanted to charge us to replace the cot! - when we arrived 1 bath towel & 2 hand towels were provided. We had been travelling for a couple of days & thought this was all they provided! After 3 of us showered Housekeeping showed up with all the towels & a pillow case they forgot to put on. And that pillow was gross - looked old & stuffing was falling out. - the bed in the master bedroom was so hard i severe lower back pain after sleeping on it! On our 3rd & last night I slept on 2 living rooms chairs pushed together (couldn’t sleep on the couch because one of the kids was there due to the broken cot). - only 1 light worked in the kids bedroom - a bedside lamp. - television didn’t or maybe the remote was broken. - missing basics like dish cloths & towels - pluses: location & clean

Great location, host very rude.
The property is as advertised. Great Central location and an easy Walk to most areas. The bar across the street is loud until about 11pm but not too bad. The biggest complaint I have is the host service. We had Fabrizio meet us at the prearranged location. We had agreed we would meet him there at 7:45 and had multiple emails to this agreement. When we were ready to take the boat from the airport we called him as requested and told him we were on our way. He was upset and said he had already been waiting for over an hour. I explained our meeting time was sent for 7:45 and we would be there as soon as the boat arrived. He was still upset and wanted us to take a very expensive private transport so he could be done earlier. When we did meet him at 7:50 he was very condescending and said multiple times we should have taken a faster boat. I showed him the email with the meeting time and he said that doesn't matter he expected us sooner, scolding me like a child. The next evening we had trouble with the lock on the door and called him for help. We were locked out. He answered and became agitated we were bothering him, told me not to call back and hung up on me! We were locked out! After a frantic half hour we were finally able to get the broken key out and got in with the spare. Because of this man I would not recommend staying here.

Spacious apartment, Great Location & Accommodating Management
Venice is awesome (of course!) And the location is soooo central. Our apartment was really spacious with fantastic art all over the place. We were disappointed at first to learn that the washing machine was broken… as we had been traveling a long time and desperately needed to wash our clothes!! Unfortunately, we had to spend one of our few afternoons at the local laundromat. The management did everything they could to help us with the situation. They even reimbursed us for the cost of the laundry. As other reviews have mentioned… There is an extremely vivacious bar down below the bedroom window. It is not possible to have the windows open at this location unless you want to be eaten up by mosquitoes! Also, as Americans… We have learned during our very long travels, that we are very, very spoiled with our creature comforts at home!!

Great location, not so great apartment
The location was 10/10. When we arrived the heat in the apartment did not work. The person who managed the apartment fixed it luckily because it was 15 celsius. There is a bar located outside of the building. It gets packed at night and is very loud through the windows. The apartment had a musty smell to it. One roll of toilet paper was given, so we bought a package and had two rolls left over to give to the next guests.

Nice location
First visit to Venice so it was difficult for us to find apartment & stressful with luggage! Once we checked in things totally improved! Very clean & roomy. Everything we needed. Restaurants very nearby (less than a block away), small grocer, great bakery for early breakfast. Our adult daughter joined us second day & we still had plenty of room. Highly recommend.

The apt. was clean and bright and had an excellent bathroom. We all slept well, but only after going to bed after 11:00 pm due to the noise from the bar just outside. Shutting the doors and windows did keep out a lot of the noise and cigarette smoke, however.

Santa Croce apartment
Even though the bar in the Calle below was noisy with smokers until 23:30 most nights, the apartment’s location couldn’t be beat, far from the tourist route but close to the S. Stae vaporetto dock, close the train station. The apartment itself is large and comfortable with a large kitchen. We would certainly stay there again.

Great stay in Venice!
The apartment is near a very active campo with plenty to do nearby. The apartment is clean and quiet - even with a festival going on with fireworks and a DJ! My only complaint is that there was only 1 roll of toilet paper and some of the essentials - dishwashing soap, detergent was out and we had to purchase on our own. Otherwise - we will be back!

Very enjoyable stay
This apartment was everything advertised, with one exception. We were pleasantly surprised by the air conditioning after previous reviews indicated there was none. This allowed us a pleasant night's sleep while it was very hot in Venice during our stay. The location was convenient for us, as it is a manageable walk to the attractions of Venice, while not being on one of the busiest streets. Very convenient to the supermarket, a great pizzeria, bakeries, and several restaurants. The kitchen was well equipped, and our family of four was all very comfortable. Because of delayed flights, we had a later check in, and our host texted me great directions for finding and entering the flat. We enjoyed wandering and exploring Venice, and we would definitely stay here again in the future.

Delightful Apartment in Heart of Venice
For our first ever trip to Venice, this lovely and spacious two bedroom apartment was just perfect. Clean, bright and airy with a well appointed kitchen. Four large doors open onto a balcony that overlooks the neighborhood street below which has festive gatherings of locals each evening at the two restaurants across the street. Of particular delight to us is the complete absence of cars - everybody and everything moves either by foot or along the many canals crisscrossing the town. The neighborhood is away from the touristy areas along the Grand Canal and yet has a wonderful piazza a block away a least six outdoor restaurants and of course coffee and pastry shops. All the major attractions are within walking, ferry or water taxi distance. The best is to turn your navigation off, walk and get lost! We hope to come back next year.

Should of paid more attention to earlier reviews
Pros: love Venice and the location. Apartment is stylish as pictured and amenities are good. Cons: When we arrived it was clear that the apartment had been shut up as it smelt musty and we had to open the windows to get air circulating. It was very hot and the apartment is across the street from a loud bar with many people smoking just below the balcony and the smoke comes into the apartment - along with the mosquitos. The building entrance is in disrepair with decaying plaster and stairs covered in filth. Our family has allergies so the dirt and smoke were a more serious problem than being covered in mosquito bites. The fan in the living room was also broken. There is a small air conditioner but not an adequate size for the bedrooms and certainly not the whole apartment. Owners greeter tried to increase the contract charges. 2nd owners rep visited after our reaching out. She was very nice and suggested she would try and deliver a replacement fan (which didn't come) and that we relocate. VRBO said they understood and suggested we move and then VRBO communicated with the owner and switched their position stating that, though their records verified what they had told us, their representatives never should have said what they said. We wanted to try VRBO, but after many successful Airbnb stays, we are truly disappointed with our first VRBO stay..

nice location, fine appartement
very well equipped kitchen (with even an teapot !! ) and appartement. Great location in the hart of Venice without being on a tourist's highway, good shops and kids playing nearby, opposite Pizzeria and Café are very loud but close at 11 pm sharp. The separation between the two bedrooms is not suitable for two couples wanting privacy and the glass wall between the bedrooms is annoying, letting light shine through. A curtain seems necessary here. check in went well, communication with owner was good.

Central to all of Venice
Perfect place to stay if looking to be away from the very touristic places. In general, transportation is very easy, just buy the day pass. We were able to enjoy visits throughout Venice, Murano, and Burano. Nearby the apartment, you’ll find a place to buy groceries, and just a few blocks away a Tratorria with interior garden seating, where food is great, inexpensive, and the service is amazing. We initially booked the place for three people, but had to rearrange for four, and this was no problem at all. When we arrived to the apartment, the beds were set for four people- that was a nice little detail. Overall, very nice place to stay. Thank you soooo much to Idrich and also to our greeter.
