Our stay was amazing from the moment we pulled up. We were greates by the valet and bellman, two of the most helpful and friendliest men; and not just then, the entire time, until we departed. Also, the manager was super helpful during check in due to some changes in our original accommodations. We are so thankful! Additionally, we took advantage of the free wine with purchase of entrees and so happy we did! The food was deliciousness, pricey, but delicious and super convenient. We also enjoyed going to the Spot of Tea next door for boba and sat outside in the courtyard to taken in the atmosphere and people watch. The pool was good too, just aome construction going on, but it was refreshing. Plus, the hotel provides bottle in rooms, at cold bottles in the gym and the pool, huge bonus! Definitely highly recommended!

The keycards constantly stopped working, and I had to go to the front desk almost everyday to get new cards. The shower had mold. I also had to pay a "resort fee" that wasn't clearly indicated as mandatory. If I knew that was the case, I would have never stayed there. I will never stay at one of these hotels or use Expedia for a booking again.

We had high expectations for the royal sonestia especial since we booked a very highly sought after luxury room. Upon entry we discovered alot of the room had moisture issues including the hot and humid hallway. There was cracks im the wall and the ceiling was not fully painted. The spa jet bathtub was dirty when we arrive and it even had a hair in it. Then we were charged an extra $35 convenience fee everyday that was suppose to include the already included amenities of the hotel. Such as towels, bikes, and bottle water. We didn't have clean towels, washcloth or and hand towels for 3 days. I eventually had to call the front desk to ask for them for all the missing items. The cleaning ladies didn't seem to care about cleaning the room everyday (they also forgot to take out the trash and recycling the whole time we were there). Bed didn't even have a proper duvet cover or fitted sheet. They just used flat sheets to wrap the bed which just made sleeping a nightmare). The staff at the front desk was kind and did their best to compensate for the poor service recieved in the hotel. If you plan in leaving a car with the hotel valet i would HIGHLY recommend you pay a private garage nearby instead. The attendant nearly popped my tire (and dis scrape the underside of my car) when he drove over the curb). In all honesty we will probably never stay at a royal sonesta again.
