“On arrival the reception was awful with staff unable to access records but their attitude was very off hand towards us. The room was clean but badly set up. For instance, the double bed was only accessible from one side; there was nowhere for storage of cases etc. and the only area to hang clothes was a row of five hooks, three of which overhung the box on which the kettle and cups etc. were kept; the shower cubicle was missing one of its two doors; the sink in the toilet was so restricted by a……

“What a beautiful hotel. I stayed in a superior double which was very well appointed. The bed was very comfortable, plenty of storage space, fluffy towels, plenty of hot water and excellent tea and coffee, biscuits and water. The owners were very friendly and made me feel most welcome. The breakfast was freshly cooked to order and was delicious. You would never go hungry. The air conditioning was a real bonus, although unfortunately it did drip a little water on the floor. My only other niggles……

“This is an excellent family run bed and breakfast in the centre of Tavistock. The room was spacious and even though the room was facing the road, I could not hear any traffic. The location was excellent and I loved the character of the road and houses. I would visit again.”

“Such a friendly owner. Comfortable bed and top rated room with loads of interesting quirky things to look at. Breakfast was to order the night before at a time of your choice. Brought to your room and was of a good quality. Would stay there again. We were in the Birch room.”
