For a bird's-eye view of the area, make your way up to Akiyoshidai Observatory. You may be able to spot some landmarks in the distance.
You'll have no end of sightseeing choices when staying in Mine. Akiyoshidai Observatory is a good place to begin here, but there are lots of other fine sights to visit. Akiyoshidai Safari Land, Akiyoshi Cave, and Akiyoshidai Quasi-National Park are close to the scenic viewpoint and will round out your day nicely.
