The hotel is perfect - a very comfortable base to return to after a day on the river or in the rainforest. The rooms are large, clean, comfortable and well equipped, with air conditioning, ceiling fans, fridge,insect screens, a safe, a TV (but no news channels) WiFi, and a entrance area with hammock. The restaurant is excellent, and the staff are kind and friendly. Our reservation included half board, which was good considering the lack of places to eat in Leticia, other than street food and fairly basic cafes. The grounds are beautiful, with a great swimming pool. It’s a 5 minute walk to the Amazon boat transport hub, and a 15 minute walk to Brazil! (But take a tuktuk - cheap and quick). The hotel has an excursion desk which we used for all our trips - the organization and logistics were always perfect. Unfortunately, our experience fell significantly short of expectations, and I would not recommend this property nor the affiliated SelvaTours operator to other travellers. 🏨 Hotel — On Vacation Amazon What initially appeared to be a jungle escape quickly became an uncomfortable and frustrating stay. Key issues encountered: • Misleading package & food situation Our booking ($341.87 AUD, double standard room, incl. breakfast and transfers) did not make it clear that you must purchase a full-meal package or pay inflated restaurant prices once onsite. The hotel is isolated — approximately one hour from Leticia’s port — with no alternative dining options. Once you arrive, you are effectively captive. • Aggressive upselling & membership pitch Upon arrival, guests are subjected to an hour-long sales session for a USD $5,300 hotel “membership”.
