Be prepared to do a LOT of climbing, but the view is worth it!
The trek to Arch Rock was great until we reached the 207 stairs that we had to climb. OMG am I ever out of shape! The view was spectacular though. It also helped having bathroom facilities and a drinking fountain at the top of the stairs.
Take the walkway through the forest behind Fort Mackinaw, it’s serene and beautiful. You can bike it or walk it and it will take you right up to the arch. If you wait until later in the day say 4 or 5 you will avoid large crowds of people.
A must see - AMAZING!
On the island Ferry runs every 15 minutes at times and when you arrive the Horse Drawn tour is straight ahead from the dock. Buy your ticket and get in line and they will take you to see all the sights! Highly recommended.
