"I would not recommend this hotel despite its beautiful bar. The hotel itself is however clean and modern but there are a few things that made the stay underwhelming. The biggest was that the advertised pool was closed, in mid July while the high temperate routinely touches 40 plus degrees (100F). The explanation was confusing and convoluted. "Knowing only a few words of Spanish was of no hindrance to our stay at this perfectly located hotel in Badajoz. For instance, the reception staff helped us order taxis and transitioned seamlessly between Spanish and fluent English, for which we were most grateful. Having said that, all the staff were friendly, courteous and helpful, initiating polite salutations in both languages as they recognised our Spanish language limitations. The restaurant staff quickly learned our choices of drinks, both hot and cold. Often they would offer us our coffee just as we liked it. A very nice touch, thank you! As mentioned by previous reviewers, the hotel location is perfect for arrival and departure by bus through the convenient proximity of the bus station 2 minutes walk away. We had many day trips to neighbouring towns, even one to Seville, by clean, efficient and inexpensive buses. The historical walled city is a leisurely 10 minute stroll away from the hotel, with many cafes en route. On days when we got weary after a long walk, a short, inexpensive taxi ride returned as efficiently to our comfortable hotel and room for relaxation. I would recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a base in the city/region for exploring the history and culture in this beautiful part of Spain. We stayed for 8 nights in May before moving onto Portugal."

One of the nicest hotel rooms we have ever had the pleasure to stay in. And the breakfast was outstanding, as were the staff. A lovely hotel in an interesting city."

"All of the staff were so friendly and helpful. They couldn't be more helpful. My room was very comfortable and the bathroom was sparkling clean, and had a lovely deep bath. I had a great night's sleep and went to breakfast in their restaurant which was immaculately kept, very reasonably priced and had a vast and delicious choice of foods."
