Unwelcoming and no food
I arrived at The Brickmakers Arms tired after a long drive, only to be told that they had no booking for me, the owner was out for the evening and they didn't do food - neither supper nor breakfast - despite the fact that I had a confirmation email for bed and full breakfast.
When they owner returned later that evening, I was blatantly ignored by her, with no apology for the confusion.
The room was clean, but small with less than 2 foot between the twin beds. The en suite was minute with the 'toiletries' supplied being 3 sad (unwrapped) bars of soap.
There was free wi-fi in the room, provided you pointed in the right direction and didn't move.
The stairs up to the twin room are narrow and difficult to negotiate when carrying luggage.
When it came to checking out, you simply left the key in the room as the pub is closed until midday.
This is not a pub I will be returning to, nor would I recommend it
