“The room itself is good but basic, was fine for a one night stopover. Self check-in on a tablet. The kettle in the room leaked when we filled it and covered the table in water. The refill station in the check in area for tea & coffee had run out of milk portions with a note saying sorry.
We booked a meal in the pub but unfortunately they had run out of all the grill options including steaks, burgers, chicken wings. We had called ahead from Bakewell to book the table 20 minutes previously and……
“We stayed at the Pilsley Inn for one night to see Chatsworth on our way to Manchester.
The pub food and service were great. We had 2 meals (dinner and breakfast) and both service and food were really very good. Servers and staff were attentive and hospitable. The location is also excellent.
We stayed in Dunsa in the main building and unfortunately felt a bit catfished by the room considering the price (~$280 USD.) Online their website indicates a cosy double room would either be in the Inn or……
“Check in: at the bar. Wait for 5 minutes as the staff served at the bar at that time. Wifi: good. Room: spacious, clean. One grocery shop near by, 5 minutes walk. No self laundry service. Breakfast: not buffet except juoice, milk and cereal, ok, basic. ”
“One night stay, room(plum porter) much bigger than photos , clean comfy and in keeping with the building. Staff very friendly, beer spot on food good. We didn't want breakfast as we were going for lunch, just. Suited us. Lovely little village, church peaceful, sound of the bells chiming, like going back in time. Nothing we didn't like, beautiful hanging baskets, beer terrace, a very popular, dog friendly pub, thanks.”
