After you've checked out all of the well-known sights in Nice City Centre, there's more to see in the region. Collect the keys to a rental car, throw your bags in the trunk and hit the road. Here are some drives we know you'll enjoy:

• Make tracks to Aix-en-Provence for a fantastic sightseeing experience. Roughly 90 miles from Nice City Centre, it has tons of great sights, including Cours Mirabeau.
• Your next stop? It has to be Avignon, which is around 120 miles away. Palais des Papes is one local draw card you really shouldn't miss.
• Head to Mont Blanc to rediscover nature. Pack a picnic to enjoy or just relax in the fresh air. From Nice City Centre, it's approximately 150 miles away.

If you don't hold a driver's license issued in France, then you'll likely need to get an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your place of residence in order to rent a car.
